How can the tribe not use a Carlton Smith or a Jerod Head? The batting numbers for this team is sick. Maybe the tribe can trade a few prospects to the Yankees for Jeter A-Rod and Mariano...LOL

Cleveland has a lot of young talent in Columbus.

The bad thing for those guys is that Cleveland is also the 2nd youngest MLB team with the best overall record in the league. Not much room for movement on a team that is winning.

The Tribe front office has done a very nice job of restocking the farm system after basically giving up and trading away all their biggest assets a couple years ago.

It's been fun following what the Clipper are doing, since I live here. It was great last year when they won it all at the AAA level, and are doing this well even while having lost a lot of the players from that championship team.

Think how good the Tribe would be over a long period of time if MLB had a salary cap like the NFL. They wouldn't end up losing so many great players just at the time they peaked, and would likely be able to maintain continuity and quality of play over the long haul -- giving them a better chance to get back to the World Series.

It's my biggest gripe against MLB and why I don't watch every Tribe game like I used to, living and dying with each pitch. Now I simply follow along via box scores and stories (and on here), probably paying closer attention to the Clippers than I do the parent club.

Even though I've gotten away from baseball the past 5 years or so, I am thoroughly enjoying the surprise and chagrin on the faces of the so-called experts as the Indians keep on winning...at the top two levels now.

This team is loaded. 22-6 and dominating the IL. Lots of good prospects that may already be playing for other organizations.

Took a look at the Baseball America prospects ranking from before this season started. The Royals had 5 of the top 20 prospects. That's pretty ridiculous. 9 total in the top 100. They might finally be headed in the right direction.

Tribe had Chisenhall (#25), White (47), Kipnis (54), and Pomeranz (61) on the list.

Anyone know anything about Cord Phelps? I know he was a reasonably high draft pick and he's hit well since he got to Columbus, but I've never seen him play and don't know anything about his defense or strengths/weaknesses. If he's legit, then with him, Kipnis, Druby, and Donald, we're looking pretty good up the middle for the next several years.

IMO Pomeranz is our best prospect. But this list was made before the season started.

I fully expect Drew Pomeranz to be our next true Ace (ie, be talked about as one of the 10 best pitchers in MLB). Of course those are some high expectations, and I may very well be disappointed. But I am 2 for 2 on this type of thinking for Tribe pitchers with CC in 99 and Cliff when we traded for him being my other 2. I just think that guy has all the potential in the world, and he is a lefty. I am way more high on Pemeranz than I am on Alex White, and I love me some Alex White.

Of course I thought Fausto could be a great closer, but at least he hasnt been a dud.

Yeah I really like White too, but Pomeranz has the stuff that doesn't come around very often.
