I really don't get what you are getting at in this post.

I can easily go online and watch all of the "important" parts if you know what I mean. Sorry that I don't find a movie about ballet to be all that interesting CoA.

Some people will decide whether they want to pay for a movie based on the ratings from RT or Metacritic, because they are both accurate.

Ah well I tend not to listen to what other people say and it has done me well in the movie arena. I remember reading a critic say The Departed wasn't worth paying to see and it is one of my favorite flicks. Your opinion is respected though.

^ Yes, but Rotten Tomatoes isn't a critic. It's a collection of the reviews from usually hundreds of critics.

In the case of The Departed (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/departed/), if you had checked with RT you would've seen that 210 out of 227 critics gave it positive reviews.

Exactly why I said its accurate. I can understand disregarding just ONE critic (smh at the idiot departed critic by the way), but if a good percentage of 200+ critics say the movie is good or bad, it is tough to go against that.

I get that but here is my problem. I don't go into a movie like Thor expecting a cinema masterpiece. So if I read and rely on a bunch of reviews like that I would never go see it and I loved the movie. Just saying.

I have no problem with people reading reviews and going by them to decide whether a movie is worth watching or not. I'm just saying you will miss out on some movies that entertain you.

Haha I think you're missing something. If you relied on the bunch of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes you WOULD go see, because THOR GOT GOOD REVIEWS.

I know this. I am talking about the people like the guy who said 10 year olds would love the movie but adults would be pissed because of the lack of story. My rant wasn't against sites like Rotten Tomatoes mainly because I always thought it was just for users and not critics. I never really got on it that much I guess. I am just saying I don't care what the critics say. If I am interested in a movie I am going no matter what it gets on RT or from Roger Ebert etc.
