This is one thing that irks me about Acta. Where in the rule book does it say that a "one inning" pitcher can't pitch more than one inning? Joe Smith could have pitched 2 or 3 innings last night. Same with Raffy left. Jim Leyland is a pretty knowledgeable manager. He left in one of his "one inning" pitchers (Albaquerque) and shut us down for 3 hitless innings last week.Cleveland Buck;761741 wrote:Acta was throwing in the towel by bringing in Germano, but you can't burn out the pen again already. The pitching is keeping them in games right now, but things are going to get tougher for the Tribe. Sizemore and Hafner are done with their hot starts and chances are this is more of what we will see from them the rest of the year, not to mention Choo still isn't hitting. We desperately need another bat in the lineup.
As for "what about tommorrow?"....you play to win the game THAT DAY.
Putting German in there was a slap in the face to the rest of the team who had fought their asses off for 12 innings.
