Apparently this week's theme is to pit the premier academic and athletic institution in the world against schools that nobody cares about and that haven't been relevant in over 20+ years.

For the record, I'll take OSU's 3rd string against WKU.

The Hilltoppers is one of the names in all of college football.

That being said, OSU over WKU by about 49.

premier- first in rank; chief; leading. OSU isn't even the premier academic institution in Ohio. (unless we're talking specifically about law school ;) )

This made me lol.

Random sidenote that means nothing: My buddy and I are doing an NCAA online dynasty where we recreated the Big Ten and I'm Western Kentucky and in Ohio State's division. Needless to say, they've been a bitch to play against. Think it took me 6 seasons to beat them. Come to think of it, it will probably take at least 6 years before Notre Dame will be able to beat Ohio State. :) (Just a joke for the ND fans)

Son of Cat Food is a WKU alum - we went to several games over the two years he was there. The vibe was very much like a Bobcat game down in Athens - frankly, it was a lot more fun than going to the typical OSU home game.

They were a decent D1-AA program in the mid 2000's - give them a couple years while they get their upper division legs under them. I personally would like to see them move to MAC, where they would be a better fit that they are in Sun Belt.

ND recent Sears Athletic Cup Standing- 12th nationally. Academic ranking- 19th nationally. Good call though. I guess this week's theme is to pit your pitiful trolling needs against the restraints that your failed bet put on your message board privileges...

^^Would you look at that... what two teams are right next to each other at 15 and 16? Congrats on spewing out a random fact-- OSU has 1 NC since ND's won it's last 3...

I could play with google too and find links that no one cares about too. ND, zero real national championships.

the only real gauge is head-to-head, and it's too bad that they can't play each other more often...having gone to the game in '95, I know first hand the atmosphere before, during, and after the game--unparalleled IMO

So college football national championships don't count unless they're BCS-era? Good to know. So it all starts over again when the BCS goes bye-bye someday, right?

Nope. Only Notre Dame can't. You see, ND has proven that when they play anyone worth a damn, they lose, so any championship that was awarded to them by the media are irrelevant until they can prove they are better than a bottom feeding Sun Belt team.

Kinda like how professional football championships don't count unless they are Super Bowls huh?

You'd have a point if I had said that. I have stated on more than one occasion on here and JJ's that I concede the Cleveland NFL Championships (not the AAFC titles though). I was pointing out the hypocrisy of some on here (namely some OSU/Browns fans) who ramble on about Cleveland having NFL championships but speak as if College football began with the BCS-era. I do think that there are different era's in all sports too though.

There are some hypocrites on here in regards to this situation. I'm not one of them. Nice try though.
