BPs right knee on the ground prior to contact, lifting the 2-1 change-up, that was just barely low, just over the LF fence. That'll teach 'em to walk Joey!

Anyone happen to know how many home runs reds pitchers have given up? It's gotta be at least 80.

Good comeback to k weeks.

My thought was it is not good for the pitcher to be at first with one out and the top of the order coming up again for the 2nd time. If either Weeks or Counsell gets on, then Braun's HR is a three run one. I thought the risk-reward factor would have warranted going for it, but Stubbs never does.

Off topic: The Harangatang is 4-0 w/ a 1.88ERA. Glad to see the big guy doing well.

So Ripken says he doesn't think much of Dusty's oft used pick-off play!

Like the effort from Brucey, but he should have let that bounce.

Marty says Bruce gambled and lost going for that one down the line by Weeks. I don't think the consequences of losing that gamble were such that he shouldn't have tried. If he plays it safe he for sure doesn't get the out and Weeks is probably at 2nd anyway, and with two outs 2nd is nearly as good as being at 3rd.

BP assuming the mantle of a clean-up hitter by not trying to beat out an inning ending 6-4-3 DP ball!

If Janish gets on to lead-off the 8th, does Dusty leave Leake in to bunt?

That slide seemed a little dirty to me. Phillips wasn't nearly as pissed though as I am. So maybe not so bad.

Bruce was definatley right in sliding for that ball that he just missed. He ran 100 feet at full speed, slid and missed the ball by 3 inches. He went for the spectacular and nearly made it....it hurt nothing.

Bruce can hit in front of Babe Ruth but if he tries to pull that pitch he just tried to pull....he will not be successful.

Oh....you can pull it....but it's a 7 hopper to 2nd.

Bad feeling about Ryan Braun hitting a 512 ft HR to win it.

Nope, a little earlier in the line-up than that!

I don't watch a lot of Reds games...but is it normal to let a pitcher bat and then not let him come out for the next inning? Is Leake a good bunter? Or are they short on pinch hitters? Enlighten me.
