Isn't the sign for going around just the "out" sign?

Craig Counsell will be 65 years old some day and still finding ways on base.

Man that was a terrible hanger Arroyo left over the plate on 1-2.

Nice job by Ondrusek. The guy is rock solid. Seems like it's rare to see a hitter get the barrel of the bat on his pitches.

Yes, but what else could he have meant? I was just taking a guess.

Bray commits the cardinal sin of walking a hitter with a sizable lead. Now it's 2 on, 1 out.

7-3 game now. 2 on, 2 out with Masset in. Weeks on deck. This could get interesting.....hopefully not though.

Well Brandon Boggs sucks, keeping the game where it's at now. On to the 9th....would really like to see the Reds add some here. It's been a while.

I LOL'd at this guy:

@JoeyVottosBat #Fact: Joey Votto just LOOKED at Casey McGehee's thumb and it broke. #Reds #Brewers

The switchers, Bruce and Phillips, with 4 hits, 4 runs scored, 5 RBI, 2 BB, and a SB, with just one K and only 2 LOB. Gomes and his 4Ks ought to sit out starting the next couple games with Hermida and Heisey each getting a start against the right handers.

Agreed about Gomes. Is he under the Mendoza line yet? Bench him for a couple of days! It isn't like we don't have a capable backup

Anyone hitting in front of Votto at this point is going to see fastballs. Bruce better be glad he was sucking bad enough to warrant the move. I think Gomes in the same hole would put up a better avg. and more dingers. However, we need more pop after Votto since they are walking him with regularity.

Bottom line, whoever is struggling bat them 2, whoever is hitting well outside of Votto bat him 4th.

I like the idea of batting Bruce 2nd. He struggles with offspeed stuff and curveballs/sliders. Putting him in the 2 hole will play to his strengths.

Gomes is Gomes. We know what he is. A guy who will hit .260 with 15-20 HRs. He is just extremely streaky and going through one of his valleys. He'll get it turned around.

Sadly the Reds are paying him to protect Votto not steal away his RBI chances.
