No, but I remember a 2000 election where a sour grapes loser tried to use the courts to overturn a valid election, which the Supreme Court ultimately upheld. Maybe Gore should have focused on ACORN more.

A valid election......now that's really funny

I guess you don't recall Katherine Harris illegally disqualifing 20,000 voters(15,000 of which said they would have voted for Al Gore)

I'd guess that was more than offset by tens of thousands the good old Dems had voting twice (or dead, or illegal). Obama didn't invent Acorn, he just put it on steroids.

Are you now saying President Obama "stole" the 2008 election?

Are you high?

Also, you're okay with Bush stealing the 2000(and 2004 for that matter) election and his entire Presidency being a sham

A vote for Obama is a vote for a man who makes promises he doesn't intend to keep. Many would call that lying. Politifact has him breaking 42 of of his campaign promises in only two years. What will the total be in another two years?
He promised fiscal responsibility. Then he broke lots of those promises.

Here is a list of a few of the broken promises.

Promise #6: No Tax Increase on Families Making Under 250k

“Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase - not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes,” Obama said in a September 2008 town hall meeting in Dover.

Reality: In his first year in office, he proposed Cap and Trade, which would be a fat tax on everyone. He increased the cigarette tax by 159 percent, and now we have that proposed tax on fancy health care benefits.

During the campaign, he criticized John McCain for just suggesting that.

“My opponent can't make that pledge [not to raise taxes] and here’s why: for the first time in American history, John McCain wants to tax your health care benefits," he said in the same speech.

But now it's Obama who wants to tax health plans:

“This reform will charge insurance companies a fee for their most expensive policies,” he said in his health care address to Congress.

Promise #5: Ban Earmarks

"We are going to ban all earmarks,” Obama said at a press conference on January 6, 2009.

Reality: The first spending bill he signed had over 9,000 earmarks.

Promise #4: I Won't Force Americans To Buy Insurance

During the campaign, Obama attacked Hillary Clinton:

“She believes we have to force people who don’t have insurance,” he said in a primary debate in January 2008.

In a Feb. 2008 CNN interview, he added: “If a mandate was the solution, we could try that to solve homelessness by mandating that everybody buy a house.”

Reality: This September, he told Congress: “Under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance.”

Promise #3: Health care negotiations will be on C-SPAN

Obama promised at least eight times that "we’re going to do all the negotiations on C-SPAN, So the American people will be able to watch.”

Reality: They haven’t been there.

Well, briefly. C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb said, “The only time we’ve been allowed to cover the White House part of it was one hour inside the East Room, which was kind of just a show horse type of thing.”

Promise #2: Putting bills online

Obama promised “When there’s a bill that ends up on my desk as President, you the public will have five days to look online, and find out what’s in it before I sign it.”

Reality: He broke that promise when he singed his first bill, the Fair Pay Act. He's broken it since, for instance on the Credit Card Bill of Rights and an expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program.

Promise #1: Cutting spending

On the campaign trail, Obama promised to cut spending several times. In the second presidential debate, he said that “actually, I am cutting more than I’m spending. So it will be a net spending cut.”

In the third debate, he reiterated: “what I've done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut.”

Of course, Republicans made claims like that, too. Bush Sr. is famous for his “Read my lips. No new taxes” line. Bush Jr. made statements like “Prosperity requires restraining the spending appetite of the federal government.”

Reality: Here’s a graph:

spending

Under both parties, government’s appetite grows.

But look how sharply the line rose after Obama took office. Spending increased 2 TRILLION dollars -- more than any year in history.

Never said that. Didn't like my alternative with Bush, but was smart enough not to vote for Obama. Sadly, Obama has been every bit the failure I feared. Though I was never fooled like the millions who voted for him and the results are unsurprising, it is still very disappointing. I'm not sure how we'll survive his 4 years at this point.

But the one good thing I can say about Obama is he may have been just what we needed. We needed a President to truly lead us to rock-bottom to start ushering in real change in Washington (ironically not really the change he envisioned or championed).

How is not paying your business liabilities and cheating your debtors out of 100's of millions all while keeping your personal wealth not a hand out?

Why should a person not be held accountable for their bad business decisions? Just because you can protect yourself with a corperate veil, does not make it OK not to do what you are supposed to do?. The man is a cheating, obstinate, egotistical lying idiot, and you defend him as saying that because he has a business background, that he would be a good president?

The current and Last president has nearly bankrupted the country. And you would would be OK with a person that could not operate a couple billion dollar corporations and trust him with a Trillion dollar budget?

Your staunch leaning to the right makes you wrong by default on this one.

Only bitter, addle brained liberals believe that election was "handed" or "stolen" by Bush.

Bush won the election and a bitter, sniveling, selfish Gore wouldn't concede, so he challenged it in the courts. When the courts (rightly) ruled against him, the correct person was named President.

Need I remind you that there have been something like 10 recounts of EVERY SINGLE BALLOT cast in that election, by everyone from liberal groups to media like the NY Times. None of those was sympathetic to Bush -- and yet Bush won in every recount.

At some point I would hope a tiny bit of LOGIC might seep into the crevices of your cranium. But I'm starting to believe that's never going to happen.

And back on topic: Having a close election won like the above has NOTHING to do with how the media was complicit in whitewashing Obama's background, and helped propel him to a win. That particular scenario has never happened before...and THAT is what this thread is about.

Dear sweet baby jesus....you're fucking kidding right?

Your boy lost...four times. This even after the FL Supremes allowed him to friggin' cherry pick the counties he wanted for his sham recount(s). Even then, he couldn't get it done. The ballots were again counted after the fact by the media. Guess what? Gore lost......again.

Just stop.

Had Katherine Harris not illegally disqualified 20,000 voters....we wouldn't have had to worry about recounts

She and Jeb were going to make sure he didn't lose Florida...and once it was clear they had cheated in Florida, the SCOTUS wasn't going to let him lose the election

David Whooly put it perfectly.....

"Do you think if W had needed a recount and asked for one....the SCOTUS would have stopped it?

Oh please....As if ACORN didn't register at least 20k for a free bowl of soup.

Your party got it's hero and savior elected and it must really, really suck to realize that he's even worse than the hated 'W'. Seriously, which of W's failed and misguided policies has Obama reversed? Don't get me started on the debt and entitlements he's piled on the prior mess. To this point, no matter how low you rank W our current public servant falls somewhere below. And that's just sad, isn't it? Yet I bet you can't wait to vote for Obama again.

I'm starting to believe gut may be Belly

And if you honestly think President Obama is worse than W,you need to have your head examined

Of the Presidents I have studied...there are only three who have been worse than W:

LBJ
Warren Harding
Jimmy Carter

Ken Blackwell:

He limited rights to provisional ballots to minorities

He rejected voter registrations because of paper weight

He illegally purged voters from the rolls

There is much more in this report and it goes into much greater detail

Report was done by Rep. John Conyers and the House Judicary Committee

So let me get this straight. You think foreign policy (ie the rest of the world) is more important at determining the success of the President of the United States than DOMESTIC policy?
