Once again, a Reds SP gave up something in the first. A homer to Ryan Roberts.

Reds got it back though in the 2nd with a sac fly from Janish, scoring Gomes.

Ump doing the same thing for LeCure to Drew, calls a strike on the first pitch even further out than to Gomes. However Galarraga takes advantage and throws 3 out there aaand gets the K, while Sam goes elsewhere, down the middle on the 3rd pitch and Drew gets a hit.

It's a struggle, but LeCure escapes the 4th without giving up a run to preserve, for now, the 1 run lead.

Pretty sure that hit off the little row of concrete just on the HR side of the yellow pad, should be a HR.

In the 5th the Reds great defense is able to knock the lead runner off twice, but it is all for naught as there is no defense for a HR over the wall! Well maybe great defense may have turned that 2nd one that Bruce missed into an out instead of a HR.

A swat play by LeCure for the 3rd out saves the runner from 3rd scoring. 4-3 AZ.

Phillips chased a terrible pitch to hit into the double play. Man the Reds are scuffling. Complete night and day difference compared to the way the offense was rolling to start the season.

Ump didn't give any, in fact took some away, from the outside corner in favor of Stubbs on the 3-2 pitch to lead-off the 5th with a BB! But BP promptly hits into a DP, and Galarraga is out of the inning on just 9 pitches, just 3 more after the 6 for the BB!

FWIW...

The Reds were 4 games back at this point last year. I'm so sick of hearing all of the "world ending" shit everywhere.
