A school safety agent grabbed the gun from a wounded cop and exchanged fire with thieves trying to rob a Brooklyn auto parts store Saturday, law enforcement sources said.
Presley was shot in the shoulder during the close-quarters gunfight that ensued, police said.

The unidentified school safety agent grabbed the Glock that Presley dropped when he was shot, sources said, and chased the five bandits, firing back after at least one robber shot at him.
The agent, who is not licensed to carry a gun, could face charges, sources said.

Ok... Let's see....

A man picks up a wounded cop's gun during a robbery attempt and returns fire, probably save the policemans life and may face charges because he does not have a permt to cary a firearm.

Gun control gone awfully wrong.... Only in NYC...

Dude shouldn't face charges but also you don't want to give the impression that this is always the correct course of action.

Ummm, your quote says he picked up the gun THEN chased after the [fleeing] bandits and THEN fired after being shot at. Laws are designed to protect morons like this from themselves (as well as the rest of us from said moron). I mean, do you only prosecute the guy if he shoots an innocent bystander on accident, or do you proactively discourage this sort of vigilantism?

Sounds like a Paul Bart, Mall cop, with delusions of grandeur.

Charges can be pressed, however, I don't see a grand jury indicting the man.

That being said, if he pursued the suspects I don't think that was the right choice. To defend the injured cop is one thing, but to act as a vigilante is not wise.

No grand jury, or heaven forbid, 12 man jury in their right mind would convict this man.

He shouldnt even have to face the legal system though. Their should be a good samaritan clause in weapons cases like this.

Oh Early, the only cops that need bashing are the piece of shit ones that dishonor the badge on their chest and the oath that they took.

Dont be a sheep, listening to the ignorance thats spewed by idiots here. You shouldve seen that when whenever they are asked to back up their claims they made of other people they cant think of anything and resort to name calling.

So sad the depths people will sink too.
