The theme of the evening was "Songs from Cinema". I must say, I was disappointed in just about every one's performance. For the most part, nobody made the songs their own and just sang their song just as a slightly worse version of the orginal. The judges have even bought into the act. Seriously guys, if you are not going to critique anyone's performance and just tell everyone how great they are, why even have judges in the first place? Just let the performers play.
Paul McDonald sung "Old Time Rock and Roll".... bleh, he sung it no better than a cover band at any dive bar in Ohio.
Lauren song her a little Miley Cyrus..... she sang it well, but offered nothing new to it.
Stephano sung "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men.... even though J-Lo was impressed, I wasn't. Really wished Simon was there to tell Stephano it was the "End of the Road" for him and pack his bags.
Scotty predictibly sung a little George Strait.... again, sung well, nothing new. That being said, he will have a long career in country music.
Haley sung the classic Blondie hit, "Call Me"..... this is an iconic song and really is a tough act to follow. That being said, Haley is so damn sexy. She was dressed to impress tonight.
Jacob Lusk performed "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"... as always a great vocal. His style of music is not my bag, but I can't deny his talent.
Then..... James Durbin with the huge save. Sammy Hagar's Call It Heavy Metal.... Durbin either should have been born 25 years earlier or quite possibly he will bring the heavy metal genre back to main stream.
