any word on who's looking to make a trip to Columbus this June? this sport does not get the coverage it deserves so I figured I'd start a thread to hopefully get it rolling.

Sylvania Southview has a freshman Malcom Johnson look out for him. He pretty much shocked us by running a 10.8 and beating two of our fastest upper classmen. Also JQ Bowers in the 400 meters and JJ Pinckney in the long jump.

From Rittman, look for Crystal Barber in the 100m and the entire girls 4x1 relay. State champs a year ago and return 3 of the 4 runners. Not much on the guy's side due to low numbers

What's she running at your meet Saturday, 609?

Devin Smith/Massillon, This week alone he broke the Stark County record in the 100, and High Jumped 7' 1/2", not to mention he's the defending State Champion in the Long Jump.

"Best track athlete" - Would that be only considering one event or maybe like a decathlon/heptathlon?
If a multi event "best athlete" I'd pick whatever female is pole vaulting the highest in the state. She's obviously a heck of an athlete and should be able to do other events....

That's my thinking.

Eastwood looking strong again in D2. Two time defending state champs, we'll see how they fare this weekend in that bulldog of a regional in Lexington. They got all four relay teams, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 300 hurdles, LJ, and two Pole Vaulters.

Watch out for their 4x1, 4x2, and 4x4 teams to run well as with Twining in the 800(which will be super competitive race) and Schlumbohm in the vault.
