Great hockey last night.

The Ducks-Preds game was awesome, with the Ryan goal easily the sickest of the playoffs so far.
Still, Preds get it doen in the 3rd and then in OT. Going home up 3-2 on the Ducks.

Today has an awesome set of games:
Pens-Lightening-VS nationaly about to start.

Rangers @ Caps 3:00pm NBC, Caps can close it out today
Habs @ Bruins, 7:30 VS, series tied 2-2.
Kings@ Sharks, 10:30 VS, Sharks can close it out tonight.

Of the three later, I like the Caps, Bruins, and Kings.

Caps up 1-0, 6 left in the 1st. Nice action back and forth.

Here is the Ryan goal from last night. Best goal of the playoffs by far:

Ovie gets a step and makes a nice move for the goal.
Caps up 2-0 with just over 12 left in the 2nd.

Damn Pike County ruining all sports today. That's why I despise NBC's coverage.

Caps do what the Pens couldn't and close out the series. It got testy in the 3rd, but the Caps dominated the game and win 3-1, winning the series 3-1.

Caps join the Wings in the next round.

4-1, you have to win a series by getting 4 wins. ;)

Bobby Ryan made the preds defense look silly, should definitely be up for goal of the year. Ovie had a sick goal too but nothing like that.

Also, the bruins game last night was intense. Price and thomas both with over 40 saves. Quick saved the Kings last night with over 50 stops, doubt he can do that for two more games, i think SJ wins in game 6.

6 of the first round matchups are going to the sixth game at the very least. That is pretty crazy.

It is actually the norm in the NHL. Over the past few years there are most series that go 6 or 7. That is what makes it great.

Last night Bruins-Habs game was great, back and forth multiple chances and great goaltending.
Quick was awesome last night too, staving off the Sharks charge.

Today has 3 games on the schedule.

3:00pm NBC: Flyers @ Sabres, Game 6. Sabres are up 3-2. I like the Flyers to stave off elimination and force a game 7.
6:00pm TSN: Ducks @ Preds, Game 6. Preds are up 3-2. I also like the Ducks to force a game 7 back to the Pond. Teemu goes crazy again.
7:30pm VS: Canucks @ Hawks: Game 6. Cancuks are up 3-2. Canucks finally close it out and Luongo gets the demons out of his head. A close one though.

Sabres-missing Pronger and Carter will be the reason why Buffalo wins today
Ducks-Selanne goes into beast mode, again.
Blackhawks-Chelsea Dagger is in the back of Lou's head, and Chicago comes out balls to the wall.

Well, Pronger will be in the lineup today. Let's see how well he skates and if he is near 100%.

What are the opinions on the Chi Van series? On one hand it's difficult to imagine two 0-3 comebacks two seasons in a row. However, it may be the case where the defending champs are in the heads of the periennial underachievers, no? Luongo seems like sort of a head case and Chi has the core of young guys who just won the Cup together. You know they won't quit.

I didn't think the Sabres had enough to win 3 straight games. Game 7 looming.

If Stafford had shot the sure goal on the short side, Buffalo would be in the 2nd rd.

Congrats to Nashville for advancing for the first time ever.

Watched Game 6 with my buddy who is a Ducks fan. He knew that since they lost game 5, they would probably lose this one. Tough though, the Ducks have a great team, just no goalie. It is a shame if that is Teemu's last game too.
I have no idea how Nashville keeps winning with no real star or goal scorer. It is tough defense and goaltending I guess.

Canucks-Hawks just got real interesting with the penalty shot and then Schneider going out with the injury,
Let's see what Luongo can do and if he can handle the pressure.

Anaheim does have a top 5 goalie in Hiller, it's just that he's suffering from Vertigo.

Hawks/Nucks going to OT!

Luongo wasn't even on the bench. Had been just sitting in the dressing room until the injury. Clearly not a team player.

Under 6 left in OT, back and forth action. Both teams have had their shots.
I'm stingy now and want double OT haha.

Score! On to game 7.
Amazing. Smith with the shot on a Luongo flailing.
From 0-3 to a game 7, the 8 seed. This is why i love the NHL.

Easily the best first round series this year for many reasons. Love looking back at this thread about how this series was over a week ago.

Back up goalie was always on bench for Vancouver as is Marty Turcofor Chicago . Same number of players on rosters and coaches stand. So how isn't there room again?
