Ive been seeing this repost/forward thing on facebook that the government isnt going to pay the military if they shutdown. Ive done a little reading on this and was pretty sure I read that the military is going to be paid still. So..some of you who follow politics closely can you inform me about this.

Don't want this to be a political discussion, which is why I posted here. I just want an answer.

We will get payed through today, and if they get a budget by our next payday, we will get our full paychecks. We will also get back pay for what is missed, however, it is still stressful knowing that youhave to still go to work not knowing how long it will be until you get paid for your work.

I think the last shutdown was 3 days, and that was over a 3 day holiday weekend. I wouldn't worry about it going on too long. I'd say there is an 80% chance that all employees report to work like normal monday

GOP presented a one week proposal to the senate and community organizer that would keep the goverment running for additional week and in that package present funding to our military for the remainder of the year... Obama and Democrat Sentor rejected the offer..

Obama clains to support the military my ass...

+1

You asked a question, and it was answered. There is no need to turn this into one of those threads. Keep that stuff in the politics forum.

You ask if military will get paid the answer is yes .. up to a point and could be delayed... however if Obama and the Senate would have picked up the GOP one week offer for a extention and read it ... those in the military would not be hampered with delays and lack of payment for duties rendered for the remaining year. My answer cover a more detail reply THAT YOU DID NOT WANT THE HEAR OR LISTEN TO...

We are stationed at hickam. Been here a week. We don't move into our base housing till may 5. Until then they put us in the Hilton. While it's nice, it's 216$ a day, on the military rate. Food in Waikiki is outrageous. 51 bucks to eat at ihop one morning a week ago. My point us that while I doubt it lasts long... I pray it doesn't. 216 bucks a day plus food can deplete a bank account pretty fast. Not to mention we were supposed to be going to japan, before being retorted here. So we need to buy some clothes. I have 2 pairs or shorts and 5 tshirts that I had packed. Everything else was snow and cold gear. So until our stuff gets here, late may, it's either buy clothes or just keep wearing the same thing.

I do trust that this will be taken care of.... And I also know there are ppl out there who will have it much much worse then we do.
I can't even imagine how the newer enlisted families will do it if there is a shutdown.

Yes, keep that shit in the utterly inane politics forum. Serious Business is reserved for serious business (threads about tits)

Well also if you have Navy Federal, any branch of the military, you will get your full paycheck no matter what happens.

Yep I have to agree. I don't understand why people that are in the Navy have anything else. Especially now that they pay us a day earlier.
