Do you know your neighbors?
Do you communicate with them, help or support them in any way?
Are they your friends?

Our properties in my neighborhood are over acre lot sizes and some have two lots.
We are separated quite a bit by property.
My property is linked to five other properties and three across the street.

We have a neighborhood get together once a year but only five of the eight ever show up.
I have good relationship with all my neighbors but one.

Two of my neighbors we have a good bond with them. Our three properties connect so we help each other with yard work and any damage because of storms. We also share in a few beers, do a little grilling in the summer and invite to family events. They are good neighbors and good friends. The other keeps to themselves mostly.

Our neighbors to the one side are pretty nice people, we don't really interact witht them much other than an occaisional 'hello" if we are both outside at the same time.

The neighbors across the street are very odd. We do talk with them from time to time, and after each encounter we leave shaking our heads. Unless a 40-something year old man who wears nothing but super hero tee shirts is normal in your neck of the woods, it seems a little odd to us.

The house on the other side of us is currently for sale. The current owners have moved into an assisted living community. While thye lived there, we did spend some time with them. I would shovel the snow off their driveway, and blow the leaves fromt heir yeard in the fall. We are curious to see who moves into the house.

I live a little bit out in the country and we have farm land in front of us and behind us and I do not know who owns it. I know who lives in the two houses to the right and the second house on the left and I wave at them when I drive past them, but that's about the extent of our relationship.

I know the neighbors in the house to the left the best. They have helped me clear snow from our driveway and their dogs come over every now and then. They are super friendly so it's not a problem. One of them is huge, I would guess 120 - 150 lbs, and it's funny to watch delivery people's faces when he runs up. The wife also likes animals so I let her know whenever we have babies so she can come see them. Other than that we mostly keep to ourselves.

No. We live in the country and can't see either house from ours.

I know an older woman lives in the house on the left and she is a cunt. There is a hideous fence that separates our properties (she can't even see it) and we were going to take it down and replace it with something better but she had her son come over and tell us it had to go back up. That wasn't really a problem but my parents said it had to wait until the weekend because my stepdad works pretty late and wouldn't have time. Well a couple days go by and she sends the sheriff out to see what's taking so long. Um, wtf? He basically laughed and said okay just put it up this weekend.

I met the couple that lives in the log cabin on the right side once and they are nice people but we don't spend any time with them. They have a few critters and some of our cats go hang out at their house and they feed them. They even let one of them inside to play with their cat, lol.

I miss living in my hometown...we were close with all of our neighbors.

We are very friendly with our neighbors to the left. Our garages sit very close together and we both spend lots of time outside so we talk to them often. My hubby and the Dad spend many hours in our garage watching baseball and drinking beer. My oldest daughter also date their son for 3 years in high school so we are very close to him. Neighbors on the other side are not home much, but we know them and will walk over to chat if we see them outside.

Once we move this summer, my uncle will live to my left and my sister to the right. We are buying my dad's house near Holgate.

The houses in my neighborhood are very close but i rarely talk to the neighbors across the street just bc they are older and strange.They feel the need to tell me about all the negative things in life that are happening and yell it from across the street. The neighbors next door have only been here for like 6 monthes and I helped shove the girl out one day when she was stuck and jumped her car for her when she was late for a dr appt. ( very pregnant)

Aside from the occasional hello i dont really talk to any of them just bc I dont want to involve myself in others lives I have enough to worry about but I will always help someone out when possible

live in the country dont have to many close neighbors. I have lived here my whole life pretty much and everyone around here knows eachother pretty well. We used to have a huge forth of july party until a few of the older fellas around here passed then it has just kinda went to the way side. We are trying to get it going again so hopefully this will be the first year of doing it again it about five years or so.

I know mine pretty well. One couple is redoing their upstairs bathroom, and I helped them carry their new toilet up their steps yesterday. Great people.

I know them enough to not like them.

One side = 2 kids, probably about 5 and 3 years old.....Not supervised, ring our doorbell from time to time for no reason, caught the 3 year old drawing on my new car with chalk once, they sit in the car and play in their driveway, the mom comes out to try and talk to my wife every time my wife steps outside, etc. etc.

The other side = mid 30's couple, 4-5 kids, ages 10-ish to 16 ish (they both had kids from their prior marriages and all are now together, kind of like "Step by Step"). If a stick is in their driveway, they pick it up and throw it in our yard, on the 4th of July, they set up their firework station on the small piece of city grass between the sidewalk and the street in front of our house, not theirs. This was thwarted on their 2nd attempt to do this by me running a sprinkler all afternoon in that spot this paster year (we've been there for 2.5 years now). They leave their stupid newspapers and garbage cans by the road for days and just drive past them, not one of the 7 people in the house can bend over and pick the crap up.

Life can be miserable if a sour relationship exists amongst neighbors. I make certain ours is not.

Most of our neighbors are not around much. I have had to put down a neighbor or two in the past for getting too violent or destructive. Nothing a good 12ga won't handle. ... oh I guess I should mention most of my neighbors are wild animals in the woods behind me. lol

On the serious side I live in countryside and only have one neighbor. We help each other when needed but don't really hangout regularly.

Some odd Jews moved in next door and immediately built a wall around their yard and are oddly private. I'm not making it up, but I do laugh at the policies of our friends the Israelis and the immediate actions of this Jewish family.

yes, except a year ago Thanksgiving night we saw the wife chasing the hubby around with a golf club, and then all of a sudden there were all sorts of TV trucks and stuff, and then about 6 months later the house was for sale...go figure

I just moved here in October and have hardly seen most my neighbors let alone gotten to know them. My landlord is on one side however, and although she definitely has a screw loose she seems pretty nice. Across the street looks like a small group of 20 something guys and the house on the other side of me I've seen 2 girls walk out of on my way to work. I'm pretty reclusive so I may never really become friends with them, but at least they don't seem like assholes.

to the south im really good friends with the next 3 houses. across the street i know the 2 directly across from me, but not really close. to the north i know nothing about anyone (they all just recently moved in and haven't come to any of the functions we have in the neighborhood. and behind me i know about 2/3 of the people on that street, but not really super close to any of them.

It's either on your property or theirs. Who put the fence up? Just build a fence next next to it so you can look at your fence and not hers.

Live in my hometown on a large lot wooded cul-de-sac so I have no one living behind us. Talk to the neighbors every so often, but have so many other family in friends in town that we have them over or are over there. Next door is currently for sale after owner went into assisted living. Have pretty good friends live 1/4 mile down the street, so driving (or walk in the summer) home from each other place after drinking is convenient. Living in the town you grew up in is odd (actually knowing townfolk) compared to living away which we did for the first 8 years out of college.

It's on hers...but like I said she can't even see it from her house. The fence was there when we moved in so I assume she put it up. I don't think my parents will ever do anything with it. When she sent her son over to tell us it had to go back up he said, "Oh you know what they say...good fences make good neighbors". I disagree. Fences just cause problems lol.

Right now I only have one neighbor and they just moved in so we haven't really met. The house across the road from me is for sale, so I'm hoping a young, hot nurse will buy it, then I'll introduce myself!

We love our neighbors! Although one next to us is in the process of closing their house due to moving due to a new job. This is the first time since Iwas a 10 year old (39 years ago) that I have experience a dear neighbor moving. We still talk/skype to them regularly and plan on visiting them in New York.

Our backyards are like a big playground, with a lot of activities. One of us will start a fire and people just start showing up. Wife bought an outdoor screen to show movies, we always start out with a family friendly movie and then progress to raunchy humor stuff after the chillies go to bed. Love the warm weather when we all start hanging out more often.

A few in the hood keep more to themselves, but are still very nice.
