Why is it amazing that one of college basketball's best players isn't going pro and is returning?? You seriously have to ask?

Maybe some college players just want to play against the best possible competition while their bodies are still young enough for them to do so? The lockout changes things, but I can't be mad at a player who leaves early when the average NBA career is under 5 years. You can come back and finish your education at any age. Once you can't play in the NBA, you can't play in the NBA.

Indiana:

Projected starting Line-up (or what I want to see!):
PG - Hulls - JR
SG - Creek - JR
Wing - Oladipo - SO
Forward - Watford - JR
Forward/Center - Zeller - FR

Bench:
Sheehey - Wing - SO
Pritchard - Forward - SR
Etherington - Wing - FR
Jones - Guard - SR
Capobianco - Forward - JR
Elston - Wing/Forward- JR
Roth - Guard - SR

Ideally, Id like to see Roth and Capobianco gone. Roth has graduated, so I think he will leave, and Capo, well I hope he goes to a D3 school so he can see the court in his lifetime. I wouldnt care if Elston left either, as he has been a massive disappointment. Then Id like to add a player for 2011, to balance out classes and help us win. IU is in on a few players to add. Id like a post player first, then a PG.

I think they have the ability to finish in the top half (addition of Nebraska) of the 12. Id hope a top 6 finish with an NCAA postseason appearance, but expect a top 8 and NIT appearance. I CANT WAIT to fill this post out for 2012 though lol.

I highly doubt Jones III doesnt start, but I hope Maurice Creek is healthy enough to make Crean have no choice. In reality, I dont expect Creek to be anything again. Id be pleased with 10-15 minute off the bench and 6 ppg.

Underrated on there IMO - Texas, Alabama, Memphis
Overrated on there IMO - Florida, Kansas, Belmont

Kansas at 6th? No way. They lose Morningstar, Reed, Marc. Morris, Mark. Morris and Selby. They probably also lose Robinson. I just don't see it with so many other players returning.

A lot of assumptions and a lot of decisions to still be verified. Great seeing the article though, can't wait for next year already!

If Sully and Buford come back, I like OSU's chances for another run at a national title. They'll miss Lighty and Diebler for sure, but they've got guys who should be able to make up for those losses somewhat. I'm interested to see how well Thomas develops. He's got potential, but his decision-making has to get better in order for him to become a big time player.

I agree. I also think they will be quicker out on the perimeter. I have seen Williams and Scott play, I think these kids will have a huge impact next year.

How about no Michigan State in top 32 as well. Bit surprising...

I understand Michigan State. They went 19-15. ND went 27-7 and returns 5 of it's 7 man rotation. Still-- I guess it is weird to not see a Michigan State preseason ranked

Notre Dame lost its engine though. Not in top 32 is surprising, but I understand it because of losing Ben H and not being a national contender on a regular basis.

MSU loses quite a bit as well, no matter how much they underacheived. But they do have a good class coming in, highlighted by Brandon Dawson.

I mean yeah if they lose the morrii, Selby, and Robinson lol

But they won't lose Robinson..and even though there's a rumor out there about Selby going pro, I think he comes back.

Losing Morningstar and Reed...meh...yeah they had good careers but it's not a crippling loss.

The 3 guard lineup of Taylor, Selby, and Elijah Johnson (he'll be a star, probably in 2 seasons) will be very good...Robinson is a top 5 post player next year in the country, I truly believe that. Releford is going to be a good wing player as well. Then you add Mclemore and Tharpe, 2 good recuits...and hopefully Daniels commits to Kansas, that would be amazing.

I agree 6 is a bit overrated, but they'll be a top 15 team next year...as long as they don't lose Robinson.

Yeah, a lot can change depending who stays. With many of these other guys, I'll believe it when I see it and the deadline to withdraw from the draft passes and they are still eligible. I'm talking about Barnes, Irving, Selby, Knight, T. Jones, P. Jones, J. Lamb, Thompson, Sullinger, etc...

It's funny because of all those guys, they had very good years and are NBA ready....but Selby? Come on...he was awful this year. He has the potential, but just wasn't very good this year. Yes, a lot of it had to do with the suspension (no one to blame but himself on that) at the beginning of the season and his injury, coupled with his game not fitting with Bill Self's system....but, the twins are gone; Self isn't going to have a post offense...Selby will be able to shine next year, just hope he has the right people in his ear to tell him this.

If he leaves, he will possibly be the most hated, irrelevant, and overrated Jayhawk to play for KU.

According to ESPN's way too early top 25 for next year, Henson and Zeller will both be back in Chapel Hill next season. Just waiting for Harrison to say the same.

Thomas Robinson is projected to go in the first round of the draft..he has no family to support his 9 year old sister. A lot of people thought he would go pro to support himself and his sister.

Taylor I have seen in a few mock drafts, but most thought he'd come back.

Sounds like Robinson was really helped out by the Morris Twins' mother. I'd imagine with them leaving (and ready to get paid), T-Rob will be alright for another year in college and not be really strapped financially. The relationship with the twins may have actually helped KU retain Robinson. Otherwise, his situation almost seemed like it would force him to play for pay somewhere...immediately.
