The best part is he blames the Cincinnati doctors for his injury, not his 40 year old body. And he still believes he can play!

He should get together with Jason Larue and sue the reds for ruining their washed up careers.

From John Fay's blog:
*On his lingering foot injury and not being able to go to spring training with St Louis:
“Awful, it’s still awful. I still can’t do so many things I want to do. It’s really frustrating. I don’t know the right words to use towards the Cincinnati doctors. I’m in a situation I thought I’d never be in. I can’t walk and I chase my kids around. It’s not healing. Surgery is the option right now. That would be a year rehab. I’m not looking forward to that. I still think I can play.
*On the trade from Milwaukee to Cincinnati: “I think I left Milwaukee hitting .295 (but playing hurt) I was driving the ball more and really playing more. The worst thing I did was accept that trade for Walt (Jocketty)…I should have shut it down and went home…I’d be healthy right now and probably playing.”
*On the Reds this year and last year: “They are still pretty young. I kind of a had a feeling that playoff experience was going to play out the way it did. They didn’t seem like they were ready last year. It’s a different monster when you get in the playoffs. You need some veterans and guys that really step up…..and you need to be ready to play. You see they weren’t…..They were really young and really naive. I hope for their sake that helps them a little bit.”
*On the makeup of the Reds:“They have a bunch of good guys…other than that one situation (fight w/Cards) and that one player (Phillips). It’s a really young, nice group of guys. It put a black eye on the rest of the rivalry. They are all pretty good. I kind of looked at it like my Cubs experience. I went in thinking God these guys are gonna be a pain….but they are all actually pretty good…except that one guy. There are a few guys that have chips on their shoulders. Overall, the 1B, their young CF, their young RF are great guys. Their LF Jonny Gomes I think is very misread. Obviously Scotty is over there and their catcher is pretty good. And they have some good backups. I don’t know they are as talented as we would be in St Louis…but that’s why they play 162 games.”

Even as a Reds' fan, I have my concerns about their medical staff. They haven't really had the best track record when it comes to this stuff...
They have had quite a few injuries with pitchers that you have to wonder what the hell was going on. Bill Bray was one. Homer Bailey has had a few situations as well. Not saying Edmonds is right, but I also wouldn't say his thoughts are totally off the wall either.

I have to admit that I scratched my head when they made that deal, but at no point was I ever upset that they got rid of Dickerson. People think he is "young" for whatever reason and he really isn't. He is old for somebody who hasn't broken through yet and every time he gets his chance, he usually doesn't produce or pulls a muscle in his vag and heads to the DL.

Edmonds appears to be a douche right now, but I honestly think that he had a much greater impact on last year's team than Dickerson ever would have. And that takes into consideration the fact that Edmonds didn't play much. He really seemed to be a great mentor for Jay Bruce last year. Every time the camera went into the dugout, Edmonds was talking to Bruce about something, and Bruce really got it going after they picked him up.
Dickerson couldn't provide that, nor did he want to. I wasn't sad to see him go.

I agree with you on that too.
I just don't like him now talking trash about them. Though it's pretty much all related to cueto, Phillips and the doctors. But why? What's the point? And the comment about not being as good as St Louis is crazy, that team is closer to folding and going into the tank then they are to being great.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I don't like the trash talk either. Seems like he is trying to let St. Louis know that he is still one of "them" for post-career purposes.
I think he thought he should have been playing more in Cincy and then you throw in the fact that the doctors may have botched something, he is probably going to be a little upset. You can tell he is upset when he picks St. Louis as the better team. That was a stretch before the injury to Wainwright. Now it is Carpenter, a scuffling Jaime Garcia, and a bunch of Titos in their rotation. One of their starting OFs is Lance Berkman. His career ended 2 years ago. And now Holliday could be out for a couple of weeks. The Cardinals currently consist of Pujols and Colby Rasmus. Those guys need to produce big time

He obtained a remarkable status as a CF playing many balls into great looking dives.......THAT cost him time off of his career more than anything.

Sounds like Edmonds has a beef with Brandon Philips as well (he's 'that one guy'). I'm guessing they didn't hit off from the start and he thought his twitter comments and subsequent brawl was all Busch League.

Apparently Chris Carpenter found someone to help him explain things to his emotionally distraught son after struggling with that issue last year. Kudos to Carpenter!
