Take 2007 for example: A massive choke from going to the world series and more than likely winning it....did this front office make a move the following year to make another stride...FUCK NO!

*excuse my pissy tone today...i am hungover like a mofo

Would love for Gilbert to own this team. He would spend.

He is rich, but I don't think he has enough money to run both the Cavs and Tribe.

Yeah...Herscheiser, Jack McDowell, Dennis Martinez....They were always trying to upgrade their pitching....just dying for an ACE. It was probably the thing that kept us from winning championships. It seems to be lost on the current regime who had TWO Aces and traded them away for bullshit, with not so much as even an attempt to retain them.

They probably weren't going to be able to sign Sabathia, but the Lee trade is still mind-boggling. They had another full year of his services and they traded him to the Phillies for a steaming pile of crap.

Say what you will about the Dolans not spending $$$, the real reason the Indians have been down is/was Shapiro. Dude spent his money on the wrong people, got his pants taken down in a few key trades, and then evaluated talent in the draft extremely poorly.

The mid-to small market teams who win are largely in the position that they are because they have a great nucleus of home-grown talent. Not being able to spend Yankee money isn't exclusive to the Indians, plenty of teams can't do it, yet still win. The Indians gotta draft better and they need to focus on drafting and developing pitching.

Pretty much says it all right there, no matter how they spin it.
The owner also made it a point to say that they'd spend when the time was right...ugh, when is/was that time?

Well, I'm going to the game tomorrow...gonna check out my two new bleacher seats.LOL. I used to have 4 in the front row and 8 partners who split our full season plan. Now there is just 2 of us left. I couldn't find anyone else to 'spend' on the team ...especially when the owner himself won't. I've already posted the story on another thread, so I won't post it here.If you want to read my rant, it is here...post#26.

Suffice it to say that I'm not a happy season ticket owner.

Saw the Dispatch headline about a new record low in attendance.

Why would any owner expect people to pay for tickets when that owner has basically said he isn't going to try and compete?

Baseball is a fucking joke that just keeps getting worse.

A plague on all its houses.

9,853 paid to see it yesterday. As mentioned, lowest since they moved into Jacobs Field.

I'm not very good at judging attendance, but I don't think there's too many more there today

And all 750 people in attendance just saw the Tribe turn a triple play.
