22-20 at half, Prep leading. Hiland couldn't hit the freaking Atlantic right now!

Hiland needs to practice layups....that was not pretty.

D4 is about as weak as I have ever seen it. Truthfully, this is the worst talent I have seen....in all the divisions.

I truly guess Seger Bonifant was the missing (final) piece that the Hawks needed. Of course, he would be an excellent addition to any team.

Congrats to Hiland. Harvest lost it in the last two minutes with the no call and the 4 on 5 at the other end. Was a close game until that.

You are correct. It was a very close game until the 4 minute mark. Hiland won that game by taking it away from Harvest Prep. Harvest Prep didnt give Hiland anything. Outscoring a team 26-11 in 4th quarter is winning when it matters the most!!!

Hawks are state Champs!! Showed a flash of what we can do in the fourth. Then hit our foul skits and made a couple layups.

Hiland struggled early against Preps defensive pressure and athletic quickness. They were getting hands in the lanes and causing Hiland to alter shots and not go up strong. Prep was getting to the glass and getting rebounds. Hiland for some reason at times early on seemed almost intimidated. In the second half Hiland settled down. Passed through the press and used their size to get above it. Looked confident when attacking the rim. Got the rebounds. Bonifant was virtually unstoppable in the paint in the 2nd half. Jalen Miller and Kaufman stepped it up and the Hawks played like they should have the whole game and made big run in the end that gave Hiland the state championship. Congratulations.

Hawks could have won by 20 if they would have been calm and played their game the whole way....the 4th quarter was how they really play which is NOT weak!

What game were you watching...Hiland prob could go against DI...they beat them during the regular season and they aren't a school that is private, thus recruits. Wow...they have talent that is fresh and real.

The last I checked Hiland was a public school that doesn't have a tuition, which mean recruiting and means this was a true Champion because they played the game against all odds and played the best in their Division. Nice to see this happen in a system that seems to be built to cater to the perochial schools.

Tigerpaws I am glad that Hiland won the game but to say they would beat DI I am not sure. Yes they could beat some DI schools but the team that won it Lasalle I do not see them being able to win that or the Tafe team in DIII those two teams were tough. But congrats to Hiland good thing Serger stepped up b/c Kauffman struggled and looked tired at times IMO.

I guess I know nothing about basketball.

Anyhow, I was referring to the talent pool in all the games this year, not just division 4....It was a down year. If you believe that the basketball quality was high this year...you may have spent too much time at the Varsity Club between games...lol

As for Hiland, they were pretty decent in the 2nd half, but if you look at my post....it was made at halftime. If you think they played well in the first half.....again, you must have been hanging at the VC.
