Aside from this site, the internet is usually a good place for information. Well over the weekend I'm talking to a couple of dudes about my new truck and how I'm thinking of putting an Air Raid or K & N cold air intake on it. One of them says "better make sure that don't void your factory warranty, or keep the stock one handy if you have to take it in for any sort of warranty service. So, I went online and googled if that was the case, of the 20 links I clicked on, half said, no, 1/4 said yes, and 1/4 said check with GM.

I can't be the first person to have done this and I would have assumed something would be available online to answer my question other than (check the warranty with GM).

Anyone on here have experience doing this type of thing? If so, will it affect my warranty?

I don't have any experience with GM trucks, but I highly doubt a simple after market CAI will void your warranty. Like you said...just hang on to the old one in something does happen.

It shouldn't.

Diesel or gasser? if diesel I would recommend an exhaust mod or the CAI is just a waste of money.

It will void the warranty on anything that could possibly be attributed to the intake. If your shocks blow out or your window stops working it won't change anything. If you hydrolock your engine they won't cover anything.

Why don't you just tack on a poll here for void or not and go off of that?

No wonder GM hit the shit tank, giving trucks away for $16,000 less than sticker???

I will drive to LA for this kind of deal.
