Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd was arrested on the South Bend, Ind., campus Sunday morning on a misdemeanor drunken-driving charge, three days before the start of spring practice, according to local media reports.
Not that I care really, but since its Notre Dame we'll probably get their entire brethren to irrationally defend a horrible offense, which is good for a few laughs. He could have killed someone!

Already posted this in the ND thread.

As I said there, since this is Floyd's second run-in with law enforcement in a little over a year...I'll be very interested to see what the punishment is.

I think this deserves a thread on its own. I mean shit, we have 10 threads about Tressel forgetting a few emails.

But yeah, hopefully the punishment fits the crime and isn't like a 5 game suspension for harmlessly selling a few items.

Nah...it just makes the claims that you have some sick obsession with Notre Dame actually seem somewhat truthful.

By the way, way to get around the bet by making your title what it is. It would be hilarious if a mod changed the title to "Only at Notre Dame" so you can't post in the thread again.

And just for you Sleeper...

I guess ND fans can only hope that Brian Kelly hands down the same punishment to Michael Floyd that Jim Tressel handed down to Doug Worthington in 2008. After all...only in South Bend.

Tressel hinted Friday that Worthington may miss more than just a few series against Youngstown State, but he's not out. During Tressel's time, Alex Boone (in 2006) did not face suspension from games after a DUI arrest, while players Steve Bellisari (2001), Redgie Arden (2002) and Brandon Joe (2002) were suspended for at least a game for the same offense. Quinn Pitcock (2002) and Fred Pagac Jr. (2002) also served one-game suspensions for alcohol-related offenses.
You can shut the fuck up now and go back in your hole.

Only in South Bend? Are you saying that football players at other schools don't drink and drive and get busted for it? Please elaborate on the meaning of your thread title.

Outside of the inaccurate thread title, I have no problem with this being a thread. A very poor choice on Floyd's part. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I believe this is Floyd's first alcohol related offense so he has a chance to have this drastically reduced in Indiana if he fully cooperates. Also, it's all going to depend on what his blood alcohol level was at the time, obviously the higher the worse it will be for him.

It's a bad decision on his part, take responsibility for your actions, make good, move on and don't let it happen again.

Technically it's is first in Indiana. But it's not his first alcohol offense. He got popped for underage drinking a little over a year ago in Minnesota.

I think ND will come down on Floyd fairly hard, considering his past. A minimum of two games is my guess.

Reports are that Floyd ran a stop sign, failed 3 field sobriety tests, and blew a .19.

Link?

I doubt any of that info, especially his blood alcohol level has been made public.

@ChiTribHamilton
Per prosecutors release, #NotreDame WR Mike Floyd ran a stop sign, failed three sobriety tests & blew .19 to get OWI charge.
Floyd was driving a white Cadillac.

I just missed that story being posted on WNDU, been following them all day about Floyd. I can believe he was blitzed and that he failed a sobriety test multiple times, I'm a little shocked that they have released all that info as quick as they did.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of drunken driving, his second alcohol-related offense in little more than a year.

Floyd was booked into the county jail in South Bend at 4:06 a.m. Sunday and was released about seven hours later on $500 bond, St. Joseph County Sheriff's Sgt. William Redman said Monday.

Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd was arrested on campus Sunday, three days before the start of spring practice.
He said he didn't have any details about the arrest because it was handled by campus police.University spokesman Dennis Brown said Notre Dame keeps its arrest records private, like other private universities. He said the school was aware of the charge against Floyd and was confident "local law enforcement agencies will handle it in a prompt, thorough and professional manner."

Notre Dame doesn't disclose any possible internal discipline, Brown said, and the school "takes these matters seriously, follows the facts where they lead, and, when necessary, institutes appropriate sanctions at the appropriate time."
