That is remarkable and will probably help Smith in the mind of the coaches.

This appears to be updated to include all games. Did Smith somehow beat Marshall in ACC games only because I thought for sure that Kendall's average was higher?

I'm not entirely sure, which is why I added the caveat of "I believe." I don't feel like looking, but I am almost positive that ESPN displayed a stat on the screen at the end of the ACC title game that said Smith led the ACC in assists. I could be wrong, but that is where I got my information from.

As for the Jimmer/Smith debate, I think that whoever wins each of the major awards deservingly earned them and I will have no issue with the decision either way. However, and I am biased obviously, I believe Nolan Smith's defensive ability cannot be overlooked. He is one of the best pressure defenders at the guard position in the country. Just look at the ACC championship game. Nolan Smith is a difference maker on both ends of the floor. A cactus could play better on-ball defense than Jimmer Fredette. But that certainly doesn't take away from his amazing offensive talents. As I said, he's Chris Jackson. The only difference is that Jimmer stands for the pledge of allegiance.

Impressive that Sullinger us a finalist with him not even winning the Big 10 POY.

This is Jimmers all the way though.

Jajuan Johnson is not an option.

Thanks, wildcats. Not that it really matters, but I just can't stand to give Duke credit for anything. :)

Same number of ACC games and Kendall has 29 more assists, that is nuts.

One LESS total game and he has 28 more.

Yeah...Smith sucks ass.

Again, I hate UConn...can't stand them...would root for UNC over UConn.....but how can anyone not have Kemba in the top 3??? What else does he need to do? Great season, INCREDIBLE Big East Tournaments and 2 big tourney games. He is also one of the craftiest players on the court as well.

I would give it to Jimmer if I had to choose...not quite Chris Jackson.....but I've made that comparison many times.

I've been saying for quite a while now that Smith is the NPOY. I have a ton of respect for his game. Honestly, I would vote for him and Kemba above Jimmer, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Fredette wins it. His offensive numbers are outstanding, but I think that both Smith and Walker are much better all-around players.

In this case, I couldn't be happier to be wrong. Smith did have an outstanding season though. Can't take that away from him, despite what happened tonight.

No, but when a player tanks it completely and his competitors for the award don't, I think it really hurts him with the voters.

BUT, Ohio State still hasn't won a championship since before we landed on the moon!

Another irrelevant post from a disappointed dukie.

The excruciating pain you must be feeling. The Wildcats were good until they played Kemba. He led his team to a victory, while Nolan Smith shriveled under the pressure.
