Huh? Their starting 5 consisted of all Seniors.

Abro, Scott, and Martin are allowed to come back for a 5th year.

This is correct. They will all three be attending Grad School. Congrats to them on their undergraduate degrees.

I said easier (not easy) which is true at this point (16 left in the national tourney).

Not necessarily. They are allowed to apply for a 5th year. They have to have finished their degree and get accepted into graduate school at ND.

Abro is already in grad school so he will be back but I'm not sure on Scott and Martin

Did all three of these guys sit out due to injury in a previous season? If not, then as soon as the season completes I am petitioning that Nolan Smith enters the Fuqua School of Business in Durham.karen lotz wrote:Not necessarily. It's a given that they'll get in. Trust me, I personally tutored an athlete for a grad school admission test and I know what it takes-- Martin and Carleton will get in.

Huh? Athletes at Notre Dame who "redshirt" don't automatically get the 5th year (4th year of athletic eligibility) like other schools. They have to finish their undergrad degrees in 4 years and then get accepted into grad school.

While what you said is correct, its not what I was trying to say. At Notre Dame, if an athlete sits out his/her freshman year to save a year of athletic eligibility, they have to graduate in 4 years and then get into grad school to be able to play their 5th (4th year of athletic competition) year on campus. At other schools athletes can take lighter courseloads spread out the entire 5 years if they redshirt their freshman year. I'm not saying that way is wrong or anything like that, just saying it isn't automatic at ND to be a 5th year senior athlete.

Maybe they could have done that but chose to graduate in 4 years and go to grad school.
