I always used to hear hockey was the tuffest sport..who knows, maybe because they punch each other with pads and helmets on or something. Then i'm watching ESPN today and see that Sidney fuckin Crosby, proclaimed one of the top 2 hockey players in the game, the best (according to pittsburgh nut huggers), skated for 15 minutes FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE JANUARY 5TH SINCE HIS CONCUSSION!! Not to mention the rumored talks of retirement LOL. If it was a football player guaranteed he would be out on the field the next week if he was cleared. Didn't the NFL just put in stricter standards a couple years ago because players were coming back before they were ready?

Hell even a basketball player would be out there the next week (see Chris Paul). Also used to have a roommate who is a hockey player. He's good at skating, and playing the game or whatever I suppose, but once again, complete vagina.

Depends on the concussion. Justin Morneau got kneed in the head last July (I think) and just recently started doing any baseball related activities because of the post concussion symptoms.

Yeah concussions aren't to be taken lightly anymore, especially when you are experiencing symptoms so long after it actually happened. Do some research on the injury and the levels of it and maybe your opinion will change.

Do you think Crosby actually held himself out? lol

Doctors were probably testing him daily.

Just another jealous Cleveland sports fan that has nothing to look forward to so he has to find something to say about the greatest sports city in the country.

I have never considered an athlete who stays out of active participation due to the effects of a concussion, a wussy. First of all, these decisions are made by medical personnel, not the individual player involved. Secondly, I don't believe the word "wussy" is appropriate to describe a person being treated for concussion symptoms, which if ignored could be fatal the second time. I think a much more fitting description would be "smart".

Apparently the OP suffered a few concussions himself...at least that explains why he came off as a brain-damaged defective in treating concern about a brain trauma that has been considered a cause for big troubles down the road as an act of wussitude.

Small market and its a Steeler town first then Pens. I just don't think the NBA would fit the cities "blue collar" image and I definitely don't see residents embracing it. It would never work.

Oh so Pitt is racist, fair enough.

Also, there are a lot of small market teams so i don't buy that.

So you're just disagreeing to disagree? lol

Lets hear genius your insight now. Why would it work? Small market NBA teams now are doing great aren't they? Why not put a team in Green Bay?

I was just responding to modell calling pitt the greatest sports city when they don't even represent the 4 major sports.

Its hard to embrace an organization like the Pirates, but they still have quite a following and the "die hards."

With ownership showing no interest in even competing....what do you expect? I doubt you're even aware of their situation.

The only Cleveland team I root for is the Cavs..if that makes me a Cleveland sports fan, then so be it. I also think Green Bay might disagree with you, but nothing before the Super Bowl era counts, right?

I take it you have never taken an economics class. NFL players aren't overpaid at all, in fact, probably underpaid. I take it you've never had turf toe..it kind of hurts and you need to push off of your toe to do this thing called..run. Something you dont do in hockey.

Oh, never said he wasn't smart, just not tough. Its not hard to say "Ya Doc, I feel fine." NFL players would do it all of the time.

Yea I'm a "fag". OK. I took my fair share of crack backs, double teams by lineman, defensive players diving at my knees. Never came out of a game because I was hurt, and I was usually one of the smaller guys out there. Im sure I'd be able to handle it.
