Another OC sucess story!
Carrie M. Shafer, 38, of Ashburton Drive, was cited Friday evening after an officer reported finding her and the boy partially unclothed in a car at the canoe launch at William F. Miles Park in southeast Jefferson County.

I had a few teachers in HS I would of hooked up with for sure. Maybe I can get lucky and get a nice, young professor in college. No joke, roomy had an english teacher in her 30s last semester that he could of hooked up with. Facebook friends, texted, let him turn in assignments late, etc. She wasnt hot, but i still get on him all the time for not hooking up with her.

If he wasn't a student of hers, I don't really see her getting in trouble (legally speaking) for engaging in sexual activity, if that in fact did happen. The law states "a person with authority or special trust". If he was a student at the school, but not a student under her (pun intended), I can see an attorney being able to get the charges dropped.

It doesn't look like she's in trouble for the alleged sex (he's over the age of consent). She's in trouble for giving him beer and for the handicapped spot.

I don't know the law here, but many states have a law against a teacher and a student from that teacher's school going at it. Something about the abuse of an authority position? I don't know for sure, though.

Did you read the entire article? As of now she is not in trouble for the alleged sexual contact because he is over the age of consent in KY, however, there is a new law in KY that makes it a felony for anyone in a "position of authority or special power" to engage in such activities. The article quotes a police officer in saying he's not sure whether she'll be charged or not. So she still may get in serious trouble.

Yeah, I hadn't read the article, but I've heard that before. I have a buddy who is a registered offender because he got caught twice with his girlfriend, who was under the age of consent at the time (they're now married and she just had her second child). I remember going through some of the relevant laws last time we were talking about it, and he told me about that.

For us all over 35....do you think this happened years ago? I think txt, email, fb, etc have made this so much easier to facilitate. Maybe we were just unlucky...never had a teaher who was remotely good looking.
