Does picking the #1 overall seed to win the National Championship count as a bold prediction?

As for my bold prediction...
Duke/UNC in the final four on one side. Pitt/ND in the final four on the other. Ohio State fans then riot in anger.

At least 3 double-digit seeds will win first round games in the Southeast region.

Every Mid-Major wins their first game. Except Butler, Wofford, and Northern Colorado because they play better Mid-Majors.

Bold in more of the non-wishy washy stuff like "I could see Ohio State going all the way" or "Xavier Syracuse will be a good game, could go either way"

Dean Smith gets shot. (I am KIDDING. My God, I am kidding. He's the greatest third-winningest coach of all-time for God's sake:))

My bold predictions:

Villanova channels Taylor King by catching fire and shocks Ohio State in a thriller
Belmont knocks off Wisconsin
The Jimmer breaks Loyola Marymount's Jeff Fryer's record for most threes in an NCAA tournament contest (11)
Michigan State reaches the Elite Eight (Tom Izzo's family is probably already in a room in the French Quarter)
Not only does the Big East not not have a team in the Final Four, but they have two (Louisville and Pitt) and one reach the NCAA final: Louisville
UK and Duke meet in the Final Four, the sixth time the two storied schools have met in NCAA tournament history (the last being the 1998 regional finals)
Duke wins the NCAA championship (not that bold for a #1 seed, but I bet many won't pick this)

I have Xavier losing in a tough regional semi final match-up with North Carolina. Playing in the comfort of Ohio, I like the X-men to survive and advance in tough first and second round victories. I have learned not to bet against them.

We really lack that inside dominating presence that we have had in the past though. McLean is a pretty athletic PF for us but he becomes very limited even at around 7 to 8 feet. Frease has improved significantly from a scoring standpoint but rebounding is still a concern. Some games it is there and some it is non-existent and we really miss Jason Love.

Holloway and Lyons though are good enough to never really let the game get out of hand I suppose. I think it will be close but we don't have the depth or rebounding to overcome Syracuse. We also play our poorest against zones which could be sliiiightly problematic lol.

Can you clarify this as it was worded oddly? I want to make sure I can force the eating of crow when neither of these teams(Pitt, Louisville) makes it past the elite 8.

You said that "zero teams" from the Big East will make the Final Four, so I directly responded that not only will the Big East NOT not have a team in the Final Four, it will actually have two. Including Louisville in the national final. Rick Pitino is a hell of a coach, one of the 10 best in history and I think he can take this particular team to the pinnacle of this tournament.

Why not just say "Louisville and Pitt will make the final 4 with Louisville advancing to the Finals"? Didn't you to go to Duke?

Not from anything he ever learned at Duke. I'm sure he learned to be a douchebag quite successfully in high school.

I have to admit, I haven't seen Xavier play a ton this year and, because of this, wouldn't have known that the Minutemen play weakest against the zone. Yeah, against Syracuse, that may present an issue. Haha. Maybe Boeheim will go man. Lol.

But I really love Tu Holloway. The kid is a flat out stud. I believe he and Nolan Smith are the only two players in the country averaging over 5 assists and 20 points per game. When Tu's hitting his three-point shot like he did in the A-10 Tournament, he's almost unpreventable. God I wish he still had Jordan Crawford in his backcourt. Xavier would be a lock for the Final Four. I always love seeing Xavier represent Ohio. They are Ohio's team.
