The union gets de-certified because the NFL owners cant lock out a union. The players then sue the league individually (similar to a class action). The players just fucked up when asking the rookies to not attend the draft. An undrafted rookie has never made all this money, hasnt been a union member and this is a PR blunder for the players.

Honestly, I am on the owners side. To the players: 1. you make more money for playing a game than the vast population of the country. 2. There is a risk to your body for said reward. Deal with it.

I will say that the owners need to take care of pensioners.

Just because they make a lot of money doesn't mean that they shouldn't look out for their personal interests. I mean, you like to say how much the players make, but the owners make much more than what any single player in the NFL makes. Furthermore, many players make about $1-2million a year.

I think that telling players to "deal with" any injuries they might have while playing football is a little flippant. They are the backbone of the league and they have the right to get a fair slice of the pie. Without the players, the NFL is nothing.

The owners make more money because they risk the most money. Bob McNair of the Texans put up 3/4 of a Billion dollars for his team. Billion with a "B".

I can't believe you just said many players make about 1-2 million a year...as if it wasn't a large amount of money. Actually a large group of players only make 500k.....still an obscene amount of money.

Yeah....1 million is a paltry salary. It is like having a 50,000 salary for 20 years....all lumped into one year........for essentially not very many hours whatsoever.
Average salary has to be over 2 million dollars. salary cap is over 100 million and 53 man roster, but I would like to see the median salary. That is a better guage of salary structure.

I still side with the owners on pretty much all aspects of the issues.

I didn't say that owners should make the same amount as the players. I just said that I think bickering about what players make is somewhat comical when you consider that owners are blowing their noses with $100 bills. The owners are just as guilty for this lockout. The players have said all along that they liked the last labor deal that the owners came up with. It was the owners who opted out.

And you can't say the same about the owners? The owners can find tier 2, 3 players anywhere, but I'd love to see the players get billion dollar owners to give them jobs.

What needs to happen is the owners get the extra 1 billion on top of the share. In return, the players get guaranteed contracts and pension/health benefits in retirement.

Problem solved.
