Well shit George Strait doesn't have huge stage presence then. I have been to many of his concerts he gets on the stage and sings.

So now we are comparing this punk to George Strait?

It's easy to be consistent when you sing songs like "Letters from Home" & "The River" You can stay in your little comfort zone of notes.

Rydawg sorry you were abused when you were a little boy. This kid is talented and he will make it a far in this competition. He is a good singer and has a good voice. The stage presence will come once he gets with professionals remind you he is only 17 and still a high school student. Oh may I remind you that the judges applauded him for his answer last night " saying he will stay in his comfort zone" like Steven Tyler said " if it ain't broke don't fix it". But then again you know so much more about music then Steven Tyler.

Howd you know my life story? I can record a version and all I'm saying is, he better be 100x better than me to be on a stage with 11 people left in American Idol. I basically think everyone up there is 100x's better than me except for Scotty Don't

I don't do autographs. I'm just saying hes not much better than anything you'd see at a karaoke bar. He has a nice deep tone, but isn't a great singer.

I don't think so. This isn't only a singing contest (only the naive believe this) -- They compiled a group of diverse singers and ethnics that are naturally liked by many different regions and cultures to basically maximize the ratings.

I think he CAN be very good, but it's probably his youth that annoys me.

Also, when I mentioned "comfort" zone of songs, I didn't mean for him to rap a Lil Wayne song, but to simply stretch his vocal range.

Well I am ok with him not stretching his vocals so far. He has done back to back solid Performances. I think in the weeks to come he will stretch his vocals a little more as long as he is still in the competition.

You have a point here. But, I disagree with you and think Scotty is good and as others noted, will be a country and western singer sooner than later. Back to your point, Scotty will go far in this show because he does fit the C&W demographic. Folks in rural parts of this country will vote for him all day and all night, thus he will last a long while on this show.

I am a married man and answered in the negative formerly, but I am starting to rethink my "Hall Pass" thread if she were available.

I agree that Karen and Naima are next to go. I only really like 3 or 4 of the singers this year.
