He specifically said they were not. So a big fat FAIL on your part. :)

No one person or program seems to be safe these days. Remember when we thought Jim O'Brien ran a clean house?

He single handedly ruined my faith in anyone anywhere being clean.

Would it be a surprise though? I could see it being multi-school shenanigans in a conference or something like that

Agreed. OSU was self-reporting. Yahoo! just received "leaked information" and reported it before the news broke. I wouldn't really consider that Yahoo! exposing "dirt."

A lot of people are thinking Clemson. I am hoping for something bigger like a UT or UF.

That's the other part of this story that I don't get. What OSU put together and handed over to the NCAA should have taken two days. They read the emails, checked the violations and sent it in. I absolutely think OSU was going to drag it's feet on this until Yahoo forced their hand.

The NCAA was there with OSU through the process. I'm sure OSU and the NCAA wanted to be thorough w/ the investigation.

Not to mention: when have you EVER know the NCAA to rush to finish ANYTHING? If they've been involved this long, it's a wonder it came out now and not in August.

The NCAA hasn't done anything yet. OSU handed over their own investigation, report and self punishment. The NCAA will not review everything and then decide if they think the punishment is sufficient.

I read a tweet the other day(can't remember who it was, but I'm thinkin' it was Ken Gordon), that there's a good chance this won't be settled prior to the start of the season, and any additional penalties could be enforced during the '12 season.

ERROR ERROR.... When the memos were found Gene Smith notified the NCAA and asked that they come to Ohio State and lead the investigation of the infractions. There have been NCAA investigators on campus working hand in hand with the Ohio State Compliance Office conducting investigations and interviewing individuals for over 2 months.
