I'm looking forward to the "Broder was a liberal" crowd to rear their head. It's like clockwork on this site.

I really liked him on MPT over the years. He was very reasonable. Him and David Brooks always had interesting conversations.
RIP Broder.

Well, he kinda was. That doesn't take anything away from the fact that he was a helluva columnist/commentator, and will be missed.

I liked reading his viewpoint, as he usually presented an intelligent piece of work, unlike heir Friedman and comrade Krugman. He was on Meet The Press often and I would always listen to what he said. I rarely agreed with him, but he made me think, and that is why he wrote. RIP, David.

Do you really not think he was a liberal? Of course he was.

No matter, as noted by fish, he was a good columnist and commentator -- and part of a dying breed of journalists that will definitely be missed.

Any time we lose a TRUE journalist it is a loss, because those taking their place are generally dumb, and biased to a fault.

Broder WAS a liberal but like everyone else has said, at least he was a true journalist instead of the partisan hacks infecting American media today.

I choose to remember Broder as one who brought another view to the conversation, and that is always healthy.

I wonder what it's like to go through life believing the entire world to have a liberal bias

I wonder what it's like to go through life believing the evil rich are the cause for all that's wrong in the world and their entire fortune should be confiscated for the downtrodden.

Well I certainly don't believe that but if I did I imagine it'd be similar to a man who said this;

"If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me." Matthew 19:21

Boat, that was a low blow. The religious right fanatics here won't appreciate that one bit.

LOL. Tell you what....how about you and writerbuckeye find a kiberal piece by Broder and share. I was being facetious in my post number 2....But

i should never underestimate the power of the AM dial pursuation. And why is it...that everytime I ask Belley, Oats, WB, 300 or you for a link source backing your claim, you can never provide one. Why is that? Do you guys make a habit of snatching shit out of your ass? This is the age of the internet you know...and it's easy to spot the bizzarro world people.

I've been trying to find any kind of liberal piece by Broder, to no avail. For those who want to know a little more about Broder, and some insight as to his politics and how he was regarded as a member of the Beltway elite, check out this link:

I wonder what it's like to go through life thinking I'm better than I really am at sarcasm?

"A" for effort though. ;)

Who are the "religious right fanatics" here? I think you're confusing terms...we prefer just the straight "right wing extremist" as a rule. ;)

You'll always be at the top of the class on that. Keep up the good work.

Sometimes it's so hard to keep everyone's category straight. I think it's easier to just slur everyone and then deal with the fallout.
