Congrats to Ursuline and Mooney . . . . what great, great programs.
I only wish UHS had one more shot at Mooney, what a game that was!

If someone from out of town looks those schools up, that's what they're going to see. Being originally from Salem I know what you are saying, but that doesn't make it 100% true (and will never be until they incorporate).
There's a reason people from those schools go to Mooney and Ursuline, and it is because for all intents and purposes it is the same city/metropolitan area.

If you lived in the city of Youngstown, I don't care if you were Jewish or worshipped the sun god Ra, you would send your kids to Mooney or Ursuline rather than the city schools. isnt youngstown christian D-6 it doesnt appear they are getting that many students and youngstown east is D-2 put they are one in acadenic emergency and yet they still get more students. why is that ?Dean Wormer wrote: Knight

Congrats to Mooney & UHS on their latest championship trophies.

I talked to a contractor recently that worked @ the new Ytown East high school building & he told me that there is 1" bullet proof glass in the administration offices. I would re-mortgage my house to send my kids to Mooney over the city schools in Ytown. I lived there for 11 years & they offer nothing for the most part. I feel sorry for the parents & kids that really do care but are stuck in that situation.

I think many parents just don't care enough to take advantage. Some of course do, and have. But many do not.

I think it has more to do with financial constraints than caring. Most parents can't afford to help their children pay for college, let alone pay comparable tuition for high school when there is an alternative that is free.
