Week 10 looks to have the makings of a big game. There are 6 games each team has to win before getting there but if I were a betting man I can see a 9-0 Pemberville Eastwood team traveling to 9-0 Genoa Area for all the marbles in week 10. The first NBC title and the playoffs. Loser may not get in at 9-1 as good as this region is this year. I know they play the games for a reason....but I don't see anyone knocking off either of these teams before they meet each other.

After 3 weeks I see it this way:
1. Kenton 10-0
2. Genoa Area 10-0
3. Hartley 8-1
4. North Union 9-1
5. Huron 9-1
6. Ottawa Glandorff 8-2
7. Ontario 8-2
8. Eastwood 9-1

Much like '07 I could see Eastwood possibly finishing 9-1 and Genoa finishing 10-0 but the Eagles being the higher seeded team come playoffs. I know theres a lot left to be desired but it will definitely pay off for the Eagles by scheduling PH and Clyde.

If Eastwood goes 9-0 into week 10 versus Genoa they will have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. They will be getting a lot of computer points from Patrick Henry and Clyde.

Must be based on Clyde beating Huron and giving Eastwood points? If that happens Genoa will have to pull for Oak Harbor to run the SBC and Port Clinton to get some wins. I think you got most of the top 8 right. Not sure about Ontario? I think Genoa & Eastwood might end up 4th & 5th seeds in no particular order. If Huron & Gladorff win out they will probably finish ahead of Genoa & Eastwood.

Actually, there is a chance that there 4 or 5 Undefeated teams coming out of this region:
1. Kenton 10- 0
2. Genoa Area 10-0
3. Hartley 9-0
4. Huron 10-0
5. Ontario 10-0
The rest of the field will be between the following:
6. North Union 9-1
7. Eastwood 9-1
8. Lima Bath 8-2 (Bath, Kenton, & OG all play each other)
9. Ottawa Glandorf 7-3
10. Elyria Cath 7-3
11. Bishop Ready 7-2
12. Otsego 7-3 (They play Genoa & Eastwood)
There could be a couple of 9-1 teams just sniking in this year. I think this will be a real interesting region to follow.

What happened to Huron last night? jeez, if that's what they have they have no chance in this region.

bath losing to st marys is a killer for their chances, but they have many big games left. I would think any of those wins against Kenton, OG, Elida, even Shawnee might be viewed as upsets, but the WBL seems to have a score every week that makes you scratch your head. Both EC andn Ready went down for the 2nd straight week also. Both have many tough games left.

Huron got beat by a very good Clyde team. Every thing Clyde ran worked to perfection. Huron couldn't hold onto the ball and gave Clyde a short field for thier first three drives. Score was 22 to 0 end of the first qtr. Give Clyde alot of credit, they were picked 1st in the SBC and showed why. Like I said this win gave Eastwood a ton of points. There are six 4 -0 teams in the region. Eastwood plays Genoa week 10 and Kenton has to play OG next week. So, that would leave a posibility that there could still be four undefeated teams coming out of this region. Kenton also has a big game week 10 against Wapakoneta (4-0). (My picks )
1. Genoa
2. Hartley
3. Kenton
4. Ontario (They must beat Wynford Week 6)

Eastwood will finish no lower than 6 IMO regardless of beating or losing to Genoa. Clyde, PH, and OH should give them some pretty good points.

What about Elida? I mean they have to get past them as well too. They are 3-1 I believe.

Ontario would also have to beat Galion, currently 3-1 in this Region and Buckeye Central who was favored to win their Region by some before they gave the game to Wynford last week with 6 turnovers.

Ontario has 4 potential Div1 players in their backfield. A Senior 6-0 190 TB/CB who gained 1200 yards last year in 9 games. A 5-10 205 Soph TB who has has taken the 1st string Tailback job from the 1200 yard starter of last year. A 6-1 205 Sr FB/Will LB who finished 2nd at Massillon's SPARQ Combine just ahead of Brionte Dunn. A 6-3 220 fast Junior QB with a cannon. They might be a year away though, as they only have 3 Senior starters on offense.

Looks like some real exciting games will shake up this region. As for Eastwood a loss to Genoa will definitely mean they will need a lot of help from their nonleague opponents because their remaining schedule doesn't have as many points available, as only 7 wins from the other teams and 4 from Genoa are there for them. Looking at the other teams below Eastwood, most have 10 to 15 wins left from their opponents. Foe example Elyria Catholic at #16 has 15 wins available frome their opponents, so I see alot of changes in the next 6 weeks.

I think Eastwood could get 14-16 wins from Patrick Henry, Clyde, and Oak Harbor alone.....or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

Not that it really matters and I don't know if it's been discussed here but, the OHSAA does something a little different when it comes to in season rankings. They use the final divisor for second level points and the current divisor for first level points. Subsequently first level points are somewhat overvalued at this point of the season. I understand they do it to account for all the teams with less than a ten game schedule but people tend to like to discuss the "if the season ended today scenarios" and their rankings don't always reflect that. So if the season ended today we would assume a 4 game schedule which would mean the L2 divisor would actually be 16 instead of 100 for the top 9 teams in this region. Then you multiply that number by 4 (number of games played). If that's the case both Oak Harbor and Clear Fork would jump Ontario and Ontario would be out of the playoffs.
