I'm saying it's not possible, for Tressel to have been made aware, the way Yahoo is reporting, and for him to just forget. Tressel is a bright man, he doesn't forget.

If Tressel was to step down, I wonder if we could get Charlie Sheen? He is available.

How it is not possible? People forget information all the time, especially when it was something they did not attend to enough to store for later retrieval. If he didn't believe it was a true or substantial, then he could have easily forgot.

I'd guess that is, at least in (major) part, due to how it was Yahoo that broke it. If ESPN's dudes were the ones doing the investigating, they'd have it plastered all over the place. But since it was another group, they're holding off until more information comes out. If the story turns out to be false, they were smart enough to not promote it as huge news. If it turns out to be true, well, they were already scooped, so waiting a day or so in order to get quotes, opinions, etc. that aren't coming directly from a rival news source is probably a good idea. It's hard to say you're the "Worldwide Leader In Sports" if virtually every little detail of your top story comes directly from another sports news group.

I find it hard to believe that Tressel would sacrifice his integrity/reputation, his program's reputation, and potentially his job for the sake of a few guys who would receive at most a 4-5 game suspension (at least if he was told in April and lied in December).

Preseason #1 ranked team. Pressure can make people do things they normally wouldn't do. I haven't always agree with Tressel (Troy Smith stuff), but have supported and believed him in. I also supported and believed in Jim O'Brien....and we all know how that turned out. He had a similar persona about him. Never say never....

Believe what you want. And I'm not even sure what you are saying in your 2nd sentence.

Report in writing to the compliance office whatever he is told.

^ My blog post on this... basically, you can't say Tressel didn't know SOMETHING about all that has gone at OSU.

You didn't even include anything about Ray Isaac at Youngstown State.

Honestly, all of that stuff is why I am not optimistic at all about this.

I didn't say I believe he forgot, but if you know anything about the human brain, it is absurd to state with certainty that it is impossible to forget.

I think people forget that this is the premier institution in America, both on and off the field. Whatever happens, we'll be winning championships, bowl games, big games, recruiting top notch athletes and leading the world in education.

When you are as strong as OSU, there is always going to be people trying to bring it down, but Buckeyes know how to deal with adversity and we won't miss a beat.

What is so funny about this is all of the Ohio State fans who bash other programs are now seeing the beloved Buckeye football program in trouble. Isn't this ironic that this comes up at the same time as the Sports Illustrated article came out about the number of programs that had players with criminal records. Yes, OSU had seven. Just shows that every program has skeletons in the closet, looks like OSU might become "Thug U." I must admit that I am snickering a bit, never an OSU fan.

I'm guessing that some, if not all, local Columbus stations will carry the press conference live. WBNS almost always carries these kinds of things. If you're outside of central Ohio they will probably be streaming it live on their website.

This certainly doesn't look good, but thug U?!?!?!? What is thuggish about this? Selling your own items, getting tattoo's? They aren't out getting drug charges or rape charges. They broke the rules and punishment should be handed down. But calling them thugs for it is stupid.
