Almonds, walnuts, etc supposedly have a higher Omega 6 level. I try to eat them sparingly although I eat macadamias pretty regularly. I was surprised to find out that cashews are NOT nuts, they're seeds and NOT Paleo.
Tonight's dinner will be Chipotle. Was surprised to learn that Chipotle is one of the few that uses grassfed beef and farm pastured pork, chicken, etc. I'm going with a pork burrito bowl with fajita veggies, guac & tomato salsa.
What you want to look at here are the Omega 6's, which aren't good if you get too much. Almonds & walnuts are much higher than macadamias. Very surprised how high walnuts are.OneBuckeye;767627 wrote:http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/carbcounts/a/Carbs-Fats-And-Calories-In-Nuts-And-Seeds.htm
That table is similar to what I read.

They use meats from Niman Ranch. This is the same place I use to buy from when I lived in Ohio. Now that i'm in NYC, i've really gotten away from it but am slowly making my way back.. I plan to start Paleo next month.BR1986FB;767606 wrote:If you don't watch them the calories sneak up on you pretty quick. Plus, macadamias are supposed to be the best of the group. Shake & Bake Boot CampThere is only one CrossFit Akron and we are proud to offer boot camp
fitness to the Akron area. Others have come and gone but we’re still
going strong.
Bootcamps are a great way to Get Fit and Stay Fit! By using randomized
movements and cardiovascular training you can get the lean, toned body
that you have always wanted.
We offer Shake and Bake Bootcamps in Hardesty Park, Firestone High School
Track, and Sand Run Metro Park in Akron Ohio.
What is Shake and Bake Bootcamp?
Shake and Bake is a 4 week program that meets Monday through Saturday, 5
days per week in the morning or 3 days per week in the evening (at our
Hardesty Park location only). Workouts are for one hour and consist of
running drills, plyometrics, and calisthenics done in a different format
each day. We believe in the theory that constantly varied high intensity
workouts will achieve the best results for your overall fitness. You’ll
do hill workouts, intervals, plyometrics, trail workouts and much more.
Don’t be worried that you can’t do it. You can do it and we’ll help. We
don’t expect you to do more than you can. We just want you to do your
best.
At the start of the program you will perform a fitness test to create a
frame of reference, or starting point so to speak.
Our Shake and Bake program is based on a combination of strength and
cardiovascular exercises. Drill instructors keep things lively by
integrating push-ups, pull-ups, squats and other strength builders with
running, plyometrics, and sprinting drills designed to increase speed and
build cardiovascular endurance.
Our instructors will challenge you to do your best each and every day.
They may get a little loud but not to tear you down. They’ll be positive,
motivating, and encouraging. There will be times that you’ll not like
your coach during the workouts but not when you experience the results.
We want you to succeed! CrossFit Akron is a very positive and motivating
environment. We won’t let you down so don’t let yourself down.
The Shake and Bake Bootcamp Basic Training Program allows you to make a
commitment to a fitter lifestyle.
What you can expect from Shake and Bake:
* Core strength and a tighter back side
* Average five pounds of weight loss
* Improved muscle tone
* Function that will apply to any sport as well as every day life
* Accountability of goals for maximum results
* Increase in strength and cardiovascular endurance
Shake and Bake Bootcamp is an amazing value.
We offer the highest level of training in a positive, fun, motivating
environment for the fraction of the cost of personal training. No fancy
equipment, mirrors, juice bars, or neon lights, just the best training you
can get anywhere.
