If the world was right. This is what Duke needed to wrap up a one. Great win for the 2011 ACC Champs

Gotta give credit to Duke. Great performance by them today. Carolina did a better job of controlling Smith today, and Singler didn't really kill them, but the role players for the Blue Devils were unbelievable. I believe I heard Vitale mention that the Plumlees, Kelly, Curry, and Dawkins were shooting 72% from the field with only a couple minutes left to play. If those guys do that, it's tough for anyone to beat Duke, period.
That said, Carolina played a pretty pathetic game today. Their defensive intensity in the first half was terrible, and the offense was just out of sorts all day. Duke did play great defense, hounding Marshall and others all day, but Carolina should've handled that pressure much better. Having Strickland on the bench in foul trouble hurt the Heels also, much like it did at Cameron. Without him, Smith is able to get into the lane at will, and either score or kick out to wide open shooters (since Roy insists on doubling down no matter what).
Anyway, great season for the Heels. 26-7, 16-3 against ACC competition. I thought the Heels were peaking after the win against Duke last week, but they looked pretty questionable in Greensboro this weekend. Hopefully they can get hot again at the most important time of the year.

Almost forgot the best thing about today.
I NEVER have to watch Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler play a game against Carolina again. Good riddance, and if you don't mind, take Kyrie with you when you leave.

Kryie told reporters after the game there is a good chance he will play in the NCAA tournament.
Ironman02, we will take Kyrie Nolan and Kingler if you can send HB40 packing? Deal?

Personally, I don't think Barnes is going anywhere. If he and Henson return, you can have Kyrie too and we'll see what happens.swamisez;710152 wrote:Kryie told reporters after the game there is a good chance he will play in the NCAA tournament.

I'm not sure how much I believe Irving is gonna come back. I've been expecting him to return, but he hasn't even been a part of a full practice in months. I think it's a huge risk for him to return, but it would be just my luck for him to come back and lead Duke to the title.

Barnes and Henson are good as gone. They will both make tremendous Sacramento Kings.
Word is from Kyrie himself that he will be ready to go next weekend. Jason Williams, who is said to be very close with Irving, has also confirmed this (although, I'm not sure the Williams confirmation is needed if Kyrie is already saying it himself haha).
And all is right in the world.

Don't get greedy now. You got your championship today. That's enough.
I was under the impression that Irving said he hoped to play in the tournament. Did he say he will play?

Up till this point, Kyrie never has said anything more than "feeling good! #coolrecovery!" For him now to say, "It looks good that I will be playing in the NCAA Tournament," and for the Duke coaching staff, training team and, perhaps most importantly, Kyrie's father to allow Kyrie to release this kind of information, you best believe he's playing.
I am SO happy. One way or the other.

I don't think that would be good for either fanbase.
