BYU dismissed Brandon Davies for breaking the school's honor code. Davies is BYU's 3rd leading scorer(11.1 ppg) and leading rebounder.(6.2 rpg)

I would assume it's more strict at BYU than it is here.

Yeah I would expect it, maybe he didn't have enough girl friends.

That's pretty damn tough heading into March...

I'm assuming it's pretty damn strict... hell, they even have a provision about beards.
What is the process for obtaining a beard exception for medical reasons?

A student who wishes to obtain a beard exception must visit a BYU Student Health Center doctor by appointment (422.5156). The doctor will fax his recommendation. The student then needs to come to the Honor Code Office to fill out some paperwork and receive the letter allowing the growth of the beard, if approved. If a yearly beard exception is granted, a new Student ID will be issued after the beard has been fully grown, and must be renewed every year by repeating the process.

If a request is granted for a temporary or more permanent beard exception the student will be notified by the Honor Code Office; at which time the student will come into the office to complete the necessary paperwork. After completion of this process the student may then grow a full beard according the guidelines given.
Edit:

Here is a link to their page talking about their Honor Code.

Just a quick perusal of that nonsense reveals I would not have lasted a week.

After reading through that, there is no way I would ever consider going to BYU. Abstain from tea and coffee?

LOL.

Homosexual Behavior

Brigham Young University will respond to homosexual behavior rather than to feelings or attraction and welcomes as full members of the university community all whose behavior meets university standards. Members of the university community can remain in good Honor Code standing if they conduct their lives in a manner consistent with gospel principles and the Honor Code.

One's stated same-gender attraction is not an Honor Code issue. However, the Honor Code requires all members of the university community to manifest a strict commitment to the law of chastity. Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code. Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings.
I know they are a private university, but is this legal?

LOL at this situation. Can't wait to read more about this. The abstaining from tea and coffee part sounds very interesting haha.

This is not good for BYU in the long-term, though.

Friend of mine that went to BYU said the suspension is a result of Davies getting someone pregnant.

Brigham Young 'University' is the biggest fucking joke on the face of this Earth. The 'college' is full of insanity to the nth degree and anyone who would possibly consider attending this joke of a university is more of an idiot than I can possibly imagine. You deserve to have bad things like this happen to you if you are dumb enough to make this decision. No student at that insane asylum does not know what they are getting into. You read their unconstitutional BS and sign it giving them explicit permission to kick your ass out for even so much as staring at a girls exposed forearm.

The kid went out and probably slept with some whore who has a thing for division one college basketball players. The fucking horror. Jesus is more disappointed in her daddy issues.

Organized religion is what the hell is wrong with this world. And out of its 6 million inhabitants, I think we could start the genocide right at BYU.

I saw Jimmer slap a teammates butt after a bucket the other day. Jimmer is no longer with the team.

It is not legal. See previous tirade. BYU apparently thinks that stepping on campus you forfeit your rights to being a United States citizen.

This isn't even the first time that they have done this kind of BS.

Remember the story back a few years ago where they kicked out a male and female athlete because she got pregnant? Kicked them out a year away from a degree. Tons of other places when they caught wind of the story offered them scholarships to finish out that year.

Ah, I'm glad to see you're an expert on constitutional law... oh wait, you're not.

Also your line about starting a genocide at BYU is truly disgusting. While I personally am not a fan of organized religion. To advocate mass killing is never the way to go.

Might be a little harsh. I don't think my buddy is an idiot for going to BYU.

I do not care in the least bit. That is one of the least offensive things that go through my mind on a daily basis.

I went a little crazy because we all know it isn't a viable reason to get kicked out of college.

Not a decision I would make though obviously. To each their own.

It literally coincides directly against the last line in your quote. I have no idea how they determine what is allowed and what isnt. I mean, if it wasnt on a bball court it would be homosexual, so maybe sports is a divide where the code isnt honored due to the nature of the game and being competitive?

As long as you are ok that it shows your idiocy, that's fine.

They make it up as they go. I didn't go through it, but I know there is a line in there (maybe not the homosexual part specifically) that says your ass is gone for doing anything The Man deems immoral.
