This is why I love Mogadore.

True small town (4000 people, got our first fast food McDonalds in 1995) but literally 10 minute drive from a good size Akron mall (Chapel Hill) that has all the regular restaurants.

The Lockerroom.....which is now Johnnie's Sports Lounge is in the same building as the best Ponderosa anywhere (not sure how big of a statement that is) It hold nearly 500 people and is the biggest Ponderosa in the US (or atleast was forever).....it was a 12 lane bowling alley up until the mid 80's.

'92....

I thought the locker room was the bar in the old/new bowling alley beside the movie theater behind Citgo. I think its the Stockmeister building now.

Love my small town. 4500 people or so, second biggest town in the county actually. Subway and McDonalds are the two chain places and the rest are bars or mom and pops type of places.
2 gas stations, a hospital (believe it or not), 24 hour grocery in a mini mall, and a park that is 1 mile if you walk around it that is pretty close in the middle of town so pretty much everyone can easily walk/bike there with a nice swimming pool.

friendly, courtious folks. Low crime. Very good school and sports programs. Very clean and liveable town. I would say the closest city, Lima ohio, is aroud 45 minutes away. Driveable (2 hours or less) to columbus, cincy, toledo, ft wayne so if ya wanna travel to the city its not too bad.

That's like having the best Mcdonald's. Sure you're the best but you still suck.

When I was growing up the closest "big" city was Mansfield. It took us 30-35 minutes to get there but there is not nearly as much to do there as there is in Akron. We have a zoo, the Aeros, concerts, etc. It's also only about 45 minutes to an hour from downtown Cleveland depending on traffic. Makes Browns games a lot easier since it was almost 2 hours away before.

That's exactly why I like Mogadore, small town but still close to everything you want to do.

I lived a good part of my life with my Gram. in the country outside of a small town whose population was a little over 300 people. We had 1 small store, 1 gas station, and 1 family owned restaurant. I think the closest pizza place was a 20 min drive. I moved from the area right before I married my husband. Though I am so glad for the close knit friendships I made that I thinking living in a small town allowed I don’t think I could ever go back. I am too spoiled by the convenience of living in the city. Gosh I really miss living close to a lake though. It was great growing up and being able to just walk down over the hill to go fishing and swimming etc.
