What is the going rate for babysitting fee per hour? per kid?

$10-12 hours (for adult babysitters) --- as low as $6 though for a stable 40hour job.

We pay 25 a day to a home day care.
We pay pretty good to teenagers in the evening usually 8'ish per hour for one child. It is maybe a little high for our area, but usually they do not turn us down, so it is worth paying a little more. We have even had them stay all night if we have a late-late night.

My little sister makes $200/week to nanny for 2 kids. She puts one on the bus in the morning and one on the bus in the afternoon. She has to get them off the bus and watch them until their mom gets home around 4ish I believe. She has 3 free hours a day when they are both at school.

Does it matter how many kids example (2) kids or their age/
My grandkids that I want to get a sitter for is 2 years and 4 years old.... and we are looking at 4 hours on a Saturday

Something this short and specific, you're looking at $30-50 (for someone with experience... or you can get a teenager to do it for $20 maybe)

Belly - a lot of babysitters get paid in cash - the rate might not be completely what it appears to be.

Those fees are cheap compared to the Polaris area of Columbus. WAY cheap.

I have to agree, low maintenance, easy to take care of kids that entertain themselves and rarely get in trouble: $20 and the sitter will want to come back. Two needy Dennis the Menaces-$40-$50 and they will never answer the phone again.

I couldn't resist my first post but for 4 hrs in the daytime you might be good with $30.00 plus a free gift when you get back.Depending on her age and interest it could be a magazine or if going to a nice dinner you could bring her home some desert.All I am saying is if this is going to be once every couple of months and not something steady then you may want to go with something extra so when you need a break again in the future she will want to come back and you can call her on short notice.

Babysitters should unionize. These wages are way too low. Collective bargaining will bring them the benefits and wages they are entitled to!

Sounds like the babysitters are making more per hour per kid than the teachers, so maybe they are better off without the unions

I'd say $20-30 depending on the circumstances (behavior of the kids, area you live in, etc).

We pay $5/hr for 2 kids (7 yo boy, 4 yo girl). Sometimes more if we really like the sitter.
