I'm kind of a strategy nerd, and it's one of the more fascinating aspects of all this to me. What first looked like random and deluded ramblings is now looking to be carefully plotted branding and re-invention - it's unmistakable when you look at the repeated tag lines and consistent "message". He's created this sort of fascade, a real life "character" if you will, and it also serves the dual purpose to put up a wall to shield his personal life and real issues he might be dealing with.

Fastest twitter following to 1M, and he's already cracked the top-100 in just a few days. By the end of the month, maybe sooner, he's going to be in the top-30 (where all such people have been on twitter for 2+ years). But after the hype dies down in a week or two, the challenge will be becoming truly interesting/relevant in order to hold people's attention.

While the #Winner brand may be limited as far as endorsements and certainly pale in comparison to what he gets as an actor, there is some real potential in clothing, at a minimum. Designer Jeans is probably a slam dunk if done properly. If you get the style and promotion done right (which is by no means easy), he could be looking at a pretty successful clothing line. A premium liquor brand is probably more obvious but inherently problematic for a variety of reasons.

And here's the funny thing I just realized: This "persona" may not even be all that original. You could say he's ripped this idea off from one or both of Dos Equis' "World's Most Interesting Man" and those Old Spice commercials making a campaign around what is arguably an absurdly arrogant adonis. And, of course, Hugh Hefner is the original playboy, or you could say Sheen is a Rat Pack throwback.
