Facebook friend question

Lately I've noticed random people disappearing from my friends list. I hardly ever add people. So I dont really understand why some people would add me and then delete me a month or so later. I dont think I do anything that offends them..but who knows. Some of the people who are disappearing off of my list are people I know and that know me but we dont hang out so to speak. But some of the people disappearing are people that I talk to pretty regularly and are pretty close to. So I dont see why they would unfriend me.

Anybody notice this on their profile or know what it might be? Am I just a loser nobody likes?

You're probably one of the dbags that plays facebook games and spams everyone's newsfeed with Farmville bullshit. I unfriend people fairly regularly for that.

I have a couple annoying friends on there who have recently documented their "spring cleaning" of Facebook friends. Sadly I haven't been cut so I still see their daily life updates about what they had for lunch and what time they checked in at Kroger. I'm hoping the day comes soon when they defriend me.

i have a couple who've documented their "spring cleaning" myself..however, havent been cut by them lol

Why not just block their updates?

I have quite a few of them blocked. Some I have to keep around so other friends and I are able to make fun of them.

The worst is the friends I actually converse with and post with a lot who play those damn games. I cant block them cause it blocks everything. I wish I could block only the dumb games.

Did they take away the option to just block them?? I have a lady who I work with, that I am friends with on FB, and she plays ALL of the games. Used to always get the updates from them and I just blocked each one.

You can block just the updates from those games. Hover mouse over the post, click on the X upper right, then select "Hide all posts from (game/app)"

I dunno? My option is always just "block posts from (blank)" or "remove this post"

You can block just the games. Click on the X and select Hide or Block for just the game.

I noticed the same thing with mine. I would have so much one day and the next lose a few. I have also seen my friend number go up without adding anyone. It must be some new setting Facebook has added and didn't tell anyone about.

I use to have well over 700+ friends. I'm down to around 350 now. I eliminated people that I would have 0 reason to ever contact again.

I don't understand why people have Facebook, then get mad or annoyed when people share every detail of their life?? If they want people to know everything then so be it. What would be the point of Facebook if people didn't want to share their lives?

I've got almost 1400 friends on Facebook, mainly because when I first got Facebook I added everyone I could, and for a while I would add anyone I met, even just once. Many of these people I could get rid of, and I've thought about cleaning out my friends list on more than one occasion. Once I realized that I could block certain people from seeing certain content, or block people or apps from appearing in my news feed, I decided there's no need for me to ever remove anyone from my friend's list. If I don't want someone to see something on my profile they won't. If I don't want to know what someone is doing, I won't. They may be more interested in my life than I am in theirs (there are several who regularly "like" or comment on my stuff even though I have them blocked on my news feed), so there's no need for me to remove them. If they want to unfriend me that's fine, but I see no need to remove anyone.
