Why no 'Both' choice???

I could not care less about the NFL and the NBA disgusts me.

NBA... I thought the past few years with the talent spread amongst the teams were great.

I know people will counter that historically the NBA has always been a few strong teams (ex. Lakers, Celtics, Bulls in the 90's). But there is a reason the NBA isn't as comparatively more popular than the College game than other sports such as NFL-College, NHL-College, MLB-College. In all of those the professional league is leaps and bounds more popular than the college rankings... not so in Basketball.

The NBA is a broken system and needs fixing... and maybe the only way to do that is a lockout.

I really only get into the playoffs there and other than that, only seem to watch it if there's nothing else that interests me. Most NFL weeks, I wind up watching three games on Sunday and then the Monday night game...and then the entire playoffs.

How can you "fix" players signing where they want? A franchise tag?

Look at the teams when basketball was in its glory days...the Celtics and Lakers had like 5 hof'ers per team, nobody complained about thet league being top heavy or what not then



And as far as complaining, its in evvvvvery sport. Even the NFL lol, after EVERY deep pass in the NFL there is constant bitching

As far as your "glory days Lakers & Celtics" comment, BIG difference. Boston & LA built their mega teams through the draft and saavy trades. They didn't have whiny, petulant children saying "trade me here, trade me there" or sneaky bastard superstars lining up their "super power" team during the Olympics, tanking games INTENTIONALLY/ faking injuries so they didn't have to explain WHY they were leaving after winning a championship and colluding to all join together when their next free agency hit.

NBA players USED TO have a set of balls. It was a "I'll beat you myself if I have to (see MJ, Bird, Magic)" mentality, not a "jesus, I'm not good enough so I'll join a bunch of other superstars and win a ring that way" mindset. That's why a lot of people are turned off by the NBA, no testicles. It's like a lot of the early 20-somethings...they don't want to work HARD for something. They want it AND expect it, handed to them.

Easily the NBA. They need a lockout to figure out how to fix things. The NBA is a collusion league. You really believe the Heat would dump their entire roster in hopes of getting Bosh and LeBron? They knew they were getting those two. The Gasol to LA laugher of a trade. 'Melo to the Knicks w/ Chris Paul soon to follow.

NBA. The season is just too long. During the lockout in the late 90's the season was reduced down to about 50 games. The quality of games goes up with a more reasonable amount played.

Exactly what years did MJ, Bird, and Magic win titles by themselves? Who cares if good players don't want to play where they know it isn't possible to win a championship? The prime of their careers is short enough as it is, why waste it playing somewhere to not upset a fan base? I'm also pretty sure that the truly great players work extremely hard, or they wouldn't be great.

are you saying it was impossible to win a championship in cleveland?

No I'm not saying it was impossible. Obviously the Cavs made it to the Finals once and did have a shot the last few years. But at the same time you can't fault anyone for wanting to play elsewhere. I wasn't talking specifically LeBron or Cleveland. Amar'e wasn't going to win a championship in Phoenix, Carmelo wasn't going to win in Denver, etc. I do understand why people don't like stars joining up through free agency but I also can't blame the players for wanting to do so.

Your tampon comparison isn't accurate. I don't use tampons yet I do watch the NFL and NBA occasionally. If they were not present for me to do so I wouldn't necessarily miss them.
