1. What kind of format are they using for the Big East Tournament this year? Are they still using the Double Bye?

2. What teams are on the bubble in this league for the NCAA tournament?

3. Who is the conference player of the year?

4. Who is the conference Coach of the year?

5. What teams out of this league have a legit shot at the Final Four?

6. What teams have a legit shot to win it all?

1) Double bye
2) Cincinnati and Marquette in that order (top 9 are supposedly "locks")
3) If it's overall season- Kemba Walker
Big East play- Ben Hansbrough (kid from Providence deserves some attention too)
4) Brey/Calhoun/Pitino in that order
5) Pitt, Louisville, UConn, Georgetown all could make it or flame out early (I feel ND will be a steady sweet 16 or Elite 8 team)
6) Probably only Pitt

Brey is the coach of the year. Especially with the NCAA reprimand and suspension for Calhoun today.

I agree with most every other opinion there.

Like athlete said if it's based on overall play through the whole year it's walker no doubt. If were talking strictly be play it's between walker and hansbrough. Depending on the bracket Pitt and Georgetown I can only see as final 4 contenders but I can see Louisville nd and Syracuse ( if they get there shit together being elite 8 contenders. I can actually see Pitt winning it all

No Lavin? If he's not #1, he's gotta at least be in the top 3.

Lavin in top 3 and Calhoun out then.

Since SJ's biggest hiccups were out of conference.

Lavin will most likely win COY because he is the "sexy" pick.

If ND wins the regular season or tournament, Brey wins this hands down!

3. Kemba Walker will win it.

4. Mike Brey. Lavin deserves consideration but SJU is Senior laden and was picked to finish 6th in the BE in the preseason, ND picked 7th or 8th. SJU is 5th right now, ND is 2nd.

5. Pitt, G'town, Louisville, ND, Syracuse (if they get it together as stated above)

6. Pitt

St Johns was only picked preseason #6 because Pitino picked them #1 as a jab at Lavin. Without that vote they were right in the middle. St Johns has an easy schedule remaining and should finish no worse than 3rd. I can't see how he doesn't win COY with that finish.

As for bubble teams, Cincy is not on the bubble. If they lose to GTown and UConn this week then they probably will be. Marquette is the only bubble team.

I'd say Pitt and Cuse have a shot to win it all. Cuse is playing real well right now, they have 4 guys who can take over a game and go for 20+ with the emergence of Triche. If they get the right matchups with their zone they will go far. Of course they could easily get bounced in round 1 too.

Cincy cruises to an impressive win tonight over the Hoyas - these guys are in!

If Cincy can win 2 of their last 3 Cronin will probably be in the top 3 for COY.

2. What teams are on the bubble in this league for the NCAA tournament?

Cinci is looking pretty good after beating Georgetown on the road tonight. Marquette may be the only bubble team left.

I don't see any championship contenders.

G'town PG Chris Wright reportedly broke his hand tonight. The Hoyas are in a tough spot now. That's a bad break (no pun intended). I can sympathize after Onuaku's injury last year. That's a backbreaker for JTIII and company.

Tough loss last night for G'Town. Wright out 3-6 weeks at best.

When from a 2-day bye to maybe playing on Tuesday ouch!!!!.

Wow that sucks. Hopefully he's back for the tourney, at least it's his off hand. With only 2 games left they should get some good practice time in without him. Doesn't look like they have a backup really, wonder if Freeman will play point.

People said the same with Purdue when Hummel went down last year. Pretty sure he got injured right around this time last season.

And they were right. Purdue struggled to compete with good teams the rest of their season.

Cincinnati is off the bubble, they are a lock for the tournament after last night's win.

So making it to the 3rd round and being tied with the eventual champs in the second half before losing is not competing?
