What are some of the cooler groomsmen gifts you've received, or heard about in the past? They all seem to be the same, and I'm looking for some more unique ideas.

I was in my best friends(bride) wedding this past September.

The bride and groom decided on the groomsmen buying suits instead of renting. The suits were $200(it was $170ish to rent) to purchase. They bought us our shirt and tie as well as a gift card to Chipotle. Nothing special or over the top, but it was fitting.

So basically we got a free shirt and tie and bought our suit. The suits are charcoal gray, so it's something we can until it doesn't fit anymore. And now we have an ivory shirt and a plum tie to add to the wardrobe.

Most likely what I am buying. I like the Chipotle card on top of the shirt and tie.

I got my groomsmen each a personalized glass beer mug with their favorite team on it. It was fitting, and they all really liked it.

I wanted to get them each a customized bobblehead. But my wife told me I was not allowed to spend $100/each on my groomsmen.

My brother was in a wedding in August and the groom had a caricature drawn that included him and all 8 groomsmen. It turned out really well and they all LOVED it. My brother has been in probably 7 or 8 weddings and had never gotten anything like it.




Edit: He had it matted and framed for them as well.

Too cliche, but at the same time too much of a personal preference. I have 2 watches from being in weddings that have never left the box they came in

I did their shirt and tie, a bottle of wine, and the following:



Obviously the individual picture was different for each guy. Since I had played team sports at some point with almost all of them I thought it was cool to kinda throw back to those days with the team photo. They all thought it was great.

Honestly, hookers would be an awesome original idea. And not the cheap "happy ending" kind. I'm atalking Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman kind. Downfall though, it could be a bit pricey.

i know a guy who did engraved ipod shuffles. only about 50-80 bucks a pop. pretty good idea i thought.

One of the weddings I was in the groomsman suits were bought. In my sisters wedding this past November just being the wedding was a present itself for me but the groomsman were also given personalized glass beer mug, a bottle of jager(her husband and other groomsman love the stuff), and a 50 dollar gift card.

I got my brother (only groomsman in my wedding) a dozen Pro V-1. He got me and my cousin a personalized autographed picture of Archie Griffin. My brother's father-in-law was on the 1961 National Championship Football team at tOSU. He is in insurance, or something like that, and Archie is one of his clients... or something like that. I just know that my brother's father-in-law knows Archie Griffin real well.

Best Buy gift cards also work.

I had to buy a vest and pants for a wedding that cost about 200$ However all I got was a tie and the vest was ugly. So I was left with 120$ pants that was only thing I would actually wear.. If you are making them buy a suit make sure it is something they can wear again and not look like they bought it for a wedding. Plus show a little more apprcieation than just a tie. I spent probably 750$+ on my friends wedding and got a pink tie for it.

I had galvanized steel beer buckets made with their favorite pro or college team's logo on the front. Then I filled them with 4 or 5 different bottles of pumpkin ales and fall brews(married in the fall), a couple sleeves of golf balls, tees and a nice golf towel with the same logo that was on the beer bucket.

I was in a wedding two summers ago. We got a couple things from the groom that I can't really remember, but he also got us a pair of the Reef sandals with the bottle opener in the bottom. Thought it was a good idea because it was something we would actually use.

NO flasks. My good friend got me a flask when I was in his wedding -- and I don't drink (maybe that's a hint?).

I got a money clip and cufflinks from another friend. I never had a money clip before and I love it now. I will probably never go back to a wallet.
My brother got me and the rest of the groomsmen knives. Excellent choice, especially if it's a quality knife.

I also had my groomsmen buy their suits instead of renting a tux. Such a better deal. We got them for around $135 apiece, which included a shirt and tie. Very nice suits, shirts and ties. The suit place we ordered them from had a special deal for weddings. The problem was, everyone had to send their sizes in and there were a couple that had to be fixed, not too bad though. I ended up getting my groomsmen belt buckles. I wanted to have some fun with it, and since I like to wear belt buckles and some friends like them, I thought I'd get them one. They were all sort of personalized to what each friend likes. We wore them for the wedding and pictures, it was great and they all liked them.

I've gotten all the standards that have been mentioned earlier... Flask, Cuff Links, Money Clip, etc... The best I have every heard of was a friend of mine who recieved an Xbox 360 as did the other 4 groomsmen.
