I've said on this site several times that I have deep admiration for Christie, even though I disagree with his politics. I still think he'll wait until 2016, if for no other reason than he can see what a difficult task lies ahead for anyone elected in 2012, including Obama.

He does need to do something about the weight, however. I fear that he would never be able to withstand the rigors of a national campaign as he is now. Perhaps he could spend the next 5 years getting himself into better condition health-wise. It also wouldn't hurt his standing among Republicans if he had more time to accomplish his goals for New Jersey. Just think, a Governor who not only completed his term, but had success in accomplishing his agenda. That's a pretty refreshing thing for Republicans to hang their hats on.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker got a prank call by someone claiming to be David Koch. The twenty minute call provided some interesting incite on whats going on in Wisconsin and how much influence the Koch brothers have.

I wanted to check this out and found that this was put out by the McIver Institute, a right-wing think tank (now there's an oxymoron for you!). I wanted to know more about them and, in doing so, I found this:

I really like what Christie represents, but I don't think he is running in 2012. I'll go by what the man has said. If he does run in 2016, I'd likely support him (depending on the field of canidates). He has said he is not ready to run for president and I believe him.

Iunno maybe 1. He likes Morning Joe a lot. 2. He likes to discuss what is going on in his state, that is what he usually talks about. He is brought on to provide a possible model for other states. (Which NY has adopted btw). 3. I'm sure he wants to stay in office and see his work done. I'm not sure he has national ambitions. He rarely discusses national issues, instead focusing on NJ.

I don't see him running in 2012. 2016, sure, I could see that.

Maybe. But he shows up on Fox News Sunday, Faze the Nation, and Meet the de-Pressed occasionally as well. While he certainly reps NJ, he's not on there to tell the world about the NJ legislature, now is he? Why else go on there? What for? Time to think outside the box, eh?! j/k

Did you notice in October and November of last year, he openly campaigned for conservatives in other states. If he only cares about NJ, then why bother with other states? Doesn't he have enough to keep him busy? Why does he care about the governor of California? Does NJ do a massive amount of business with Cali?

I hear him say he's not interested. I hear him say he's the NJ governor. I hear him claim he's got a job to do. But what does he DO???? Actions speak 10 times louder than words to me, and his actions tell me he's very interested in the national spotlight. He has a touch of narcissism in him in that he wants to be dragged into 2012 as the man to right the ship. All politicians are narcissists, but he still has miles to go to catch the current occupier of the chair he seeks.

I find it amusing (and ironic) when all these pro-union folks piss and moan about the Kochs and their financial backing of the governor -- but ignore the tens of millions of union dollars that go exclusively to Democrats each and every year.

The big money in elections these days doesn't come from corporations and businesses -- it comes from unions.
