All I could think about while watching that was the Saved By the Bell episode when the gang sabotages Zack's performance of his school song by giving him lemon water before he performs with the glee club.

Looked like a mild seizure - odd to watch it but she hung in pretty well.

A few years back meteorologist Mark Koontz was in the process of having a stroke on WFMJ in Youngstown. I guess he was sweating a lot, and the speech was getting a little interesting while on air. It was pretty obvious what was going on, my mother said.

I never heard that. I have sat across from him while he pounded a few drinks prior to his long ride home (near Cleveland) though, he was sweatin' and slurrin' then too.

I think she controlled herself too well for it to be even a simple, mild seizure.

Seizures can strange - my wife suddenly started having them at about age 40. She had a doozy to start with, then a few mild ones while they were getting her medication adjusted. She compare them to feeling like the way a car AM radio sounds when you're driving under a bridge.

That was one of the more confusing things I've ever read on here. Regardless, seizures are incredibly variable, as you pointed out. It'd be hard to conclude one way or the other based on a short clip.

Yep. He said he was not far from retiring and didn't have it in him to move again before doing so. He wasn't hammered btw, good guy.

haha, awesome post sherm. I believe that was the raging "Bayside is a school that's cool" jam, yes? Dude drinks lemon water and transforms into Hellen Keller, I mean come on Zack, they didn't drop LSD in your cup.

First, I hope she recovers okay and is fine. I felt so sorry for her. Isn't she awful young to have a stroke? Something was obviously very wrong. The look in her eyes was like she was so scared because she knew.

That would be correct. Watching the video of that reporter, all I could think is "ahh bippy boo...ahh bippy boo."

There's no age to when a stroke can happen. Obviously, the notion is it happens to "old" or "older" people.

In 2009, a player of mine had a stroke after running a fitness test. It was essentially a 3-mile run, and he ran it with 6-minute miles. He was 19 and in incredible shape (which is obvious). The doctors still have no idea what caused it. To this day, there's still no cause figured out. He still hasn't been able to effectively talk -- just one word here, one word there -- and I just received word that he may never regain strength/total usage in his right arm and hand. We had encouraging news when we met a former bishop of his city who had, it seemed like, the exact same stroke at 60 years old and made a FULL recovery by 65. Incredible.

Still hoping and praying.

Just heard on the radio on the way to work, the doctors say that she had a severe migraine that has the effects of a stroke.

Looked like a TIA (trans ischemic attack) to me. Also known as a mini stroke.

They are about impossible to prove, because there are no lasting effects. Symptoms can last a few minutes to a few hours.
