There was no intent. So without warning, you already fucked up. Even with warning, intent is supposed to be needed. What happened last night should have no carry over unless it is obvious, and it WAS obvious....that it wasnt intentional. The players are professionals, and Kershaw was pissed that Parra stared down a HR and then talked shit, he reacted and they got in a spat, LAST NIGHT. Umpires need to learn to be professionals as well and realize its a new day, new game, and new situation. There was nothing in that game at all to suggest any type of carry-over. If an umpire thinks there might be, issue a fucking warning before the game. They didnt. They should be suspended.

Cubs had tying run at 3rd in the 9th with one out and infield played in. Barney hits a chopper high in the air over the mound. Brandon Phillips first move is toward the plate, but the ball on the first bounce goes over his head. A rare misjudged in the air high bouncing ball allows the tying run to score. Not quite as rare as losing a ball like that in the sun and not catching it, as I recall hearing once in the past.

Cardinals began play 4.5 games back. Phils just momentarily bailed Atlanta out with a run in the 9th to tie STL. Still the lead could very easily be 3.5 after tonight.
