1933 boys basketball lost in state finals and 1976 girls basketball won state championship....
but on another note, man did streetsboro get screwed tonight. referee called a jump ball that kept it with poland with 11 sec left when wagner clearly tackled the kid from streetsboro.... and lastly, this game sent basketball back 20 years, if struthers doesn't win by 25+ ill be amazed

I dont think that even needs to be discussed, Struthers is going to LOVE routing poland twice in one year

Agreed, should be fun. I played at Struthers and am very close to the program still. I will be so happy to see Poland lose again I cant explain it.

They need to play better than they did against a pretty weak Mooney team in order to win. They definitely should win; but they need to step it up.

They jumped out almost up 20 in the first quarter and basically let mooney hang around cause they did what they had to do early to sustain the game. When the game gt close struthers pulled away as expected.

were you even at the game, because other than a small run in the 3rd quarter, which struthers immediately squashed, struthers quietly dominated the game

ALL NEO team came out today. Nate Jacubec(shs) and Colin Reardon(pshs) were 1st team. Jake Jacubec(shs) , Adam Ryczaj(shs), Dan Reese(mooney), and mike lupochovsky(hhs) were 2nd team. wolfgang,hopkinson,marino 3rd team, jordan ryan(shs) hon. mention. Coach of the Year- Joe Savco(Struthers)

Struthers had a 5 point lead in the 3rd qtr that could have easily been eclipsed had Mooney been decent. Add that to Mooney missing 13 foul shots and Struthers could have been taken down. All of which makes my point --- the Cats need to play much better tonight to win (and they can, and I would expect them to). Hope you have a better understanding of my post now.

Literally help the ball for at least 2 and a half minutes.. reasoning why there should be a shot clock.. Oh well struthers got the W they needed and punched their ticket even with the patheic play of poland i literally lost alot of respect for their program the why they played tonight... No to mention the tic tac fouls called on struthers and nothing the other way. Who does struthers play next?

probably lake catholic. but i agree with everything you just said, worst part is that it was the only chance they had to win, and it wasn't grisdale's idea, tom fender had to come back and put it in. springfield coach was at poland practice for 2 days, is that unethical or am i crazy? arent they rivals? anyway, cake eaters got what they deserved. going to regionals despite having to beat cowards

too bad thats how teams have tried to play against poland for years now...

so you dont respect teams like northwestern who has scared the daylights out of osu this year for slowing down the tempo and playing at a pace that gives them the best chance to win...seems to me struthers ended up adjusting and being able to forces some turnovers
