Thank you. We have our hands full. Time to rock out the purple on the sideline! ;)
OQB;702730 wrote:Pittman, just to let you know....when you bring that link up and the list of teams is there...it says Orrville plays the "Winnter" Triway/Wellington. Just thought I'd show you that so you can fix it.

Great site though man, and thank you for putting it together!

Thanks for the correction and kind comments. I've fixed it.

Congratulations Red Riders. Big win tonight and getting revenge is always sweet.

It will be interesting to see what Triway comes out with tomorrow night. Wellington is a tough out.

Can't say I would have predicted it, but I think we might see another Triway vs. Orrville District Final.

Just a testament to a couple of great programs that have excellant basketball tradition and kids that know how to win....and win when your not expected to as both teams entered the tournemnet with 7 wins a piece!

If Triway can win tomorrow night, they will have a ton of confidence coming into the Orrville game. It could be another epic game.

That was my point....a select few were questioning whether we have the right coach or not....and Coach Slaughter's success answers that.

Congrats to the Riders on the win. But I would say that Hillsdale played a very tough schedule too. Thats basketball though, on any given night any good team can win.The Falcons did win the first time these 2 teams met. I wasn't at the game, but from what I've heard COACHING was a factor. These are high school kids and they run on emotion....sounds like the Riders brought it tonight. I would say that Hillsdale (from the games I watched) seemed to lack that aggressive nature.

i thought this was a definite coaching win by sly slaughter. Orrville changed up their defense and hillsdale spent the rest of the game standing around, seemingly making no offensive adjustments. I was also a little shocked at the complete lack of intensity by hillsdale in the second half. Soft, one handed passes and no fire. Orrville on the other hand, played much harder in the second half and won the game because of it.

I think sometimes you get in a situation like a big game and have a fear of over coaching and not letting the kids play, so you back off too far or change your style a little too much and become ineffective. We all can think of examples of that we have seen in real life, game on the line and the coach becomes a totally different guy then what he has been all year.

I don't know if that was the case last night with Hillsdale but it makes you think.

From Wooster AD Keri Hamsher: Game Friday WILL NOT be moved. Still at Wooster HS. Tip at 7pm, gates will open at 6pm. Probably want to be there before 6pm if you want a good seat.

Yeah before someone accuses me of making a racial comment. This is a reference to the movie Due Date. No more, no less.

I can see it!

BRF will be pulling for Triway to set up a great battle! Regardless of who wins, the team that moves on will have a losing record. That is cool. I recall many years ago when some teams would go to Regionals and even State with a losing record and wonder how that could be. Now in my older age, I know the answer: Strength of Schedule and good coaching.
