The future Mrs. and I are planning a vacation for us and Lil' Bug.

I'm trying to find a nice place for the 3 of us to stay PLUS another bedroom because she has some family that may be visiting. So all in all need a 3 bedroom type stay.

If I could find a deal on a rental home, I'd LOVE that.

Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay or even a legit site for homes?

Is there any where that gives cheap Disney tickets?

Also, any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated. We are on a tight budget since this will be right after the wedding.

Great site indeed. As far as cheap Disney tickets you can be tortured through a timeshare presentation if you'd like! Problem is Disney doesn't really discount. There are probably ways to find them but I don't know of any. Orlando is alot of fun but the traffic is hell 24/7! Hotels in Orlando are a dime a dozen. Check into Disney Resort packages they may include tickets.

Thanks. I've been price shopping a lot this week and the cost of renting a house vs. the cost of renting a hotel is only like $100-$300 difference which we don't mind for the ease factor with the baby and all.

Definitely want to do one day at Disney at least, possibly 2. Sea World and Universal are both options. Probably one or the other but not both.

What time of the year are you planning on coming down? Also are you more interested in rides or shows? The Orlando parks can get very busy during certain parts of the year, but there are ways to to improve your enjoyment of the parks even when busy.

May 23 is anticipated arrival date in Florida. Rides won't be much of an option because Lil' Bug will only be like 20 months then.

Sounds like that should be right about the start of the busy summer season, but crowds shouldn't be too bad.

If you and your wife do want to ride the rides check with the parks about their child swap / parent swap. Each park does it a little different, but basically you all three wait in line and one parent rides while the other waits with the child. When the first parent gets back to the station the other parent rides with no additional wait.

Seaworld has several good shows and exhibits. The Shamu show will be fairly new since it opens the middle of next month. Definitely worth spending a few hours there.

If you decide to go to Universal, I would recommend the two-park ticket, maybe even the 2- day ticket to both parks. Lots to do at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure will be crowded, especially in the Harry Potter section of the park, but Mythos, which is near the harry Potter area, is he best theme park restaurant I've ever eaten at. The Studios will be less crowded, but will have the overflow from IoA. Several good shows, the horror make-up show is cheesy but fun. Twister is another attraction that is entertaining for the whole family. (damn I'm starting to sound like a guide book)

I haven't been to Disney in many, many years, so I can't offer any advice there.

Make sure you also check the place you are staying for any bed bug reports (you can find them online). They have had some issues with that in Orlando.

vrbo is the place everyone refers to for a rental house. Your child won't remember much from vacation at that age, but I'd guess Sea World would be more enjoyable. Disney is better with a resort plan. You might think about Gatorland, Fun Spot, Wet n Wild, for shorter fun trips with a small child. The Disney water park, Typhoon Lagoon is great. I suggest Silver Springs in Ocala if you are not too far.

We are heading down the week after you. I have booked a 4 bedroom 3 bath townhouse at regal palms resort which is about 8 miles from Disney. We will be there for 6 nights and I paid $594 out the door. I found that place thru homeaway.com renting thru a private owner. I spent hours looking for something cheaper. Good luck.
