Heard from a guy that lives 2 miles from where it exploded, said the heat was melting ice off his house. 2 MILES.

Actually not far-fetched. They showed a guy who said it felt like he was standing right beside a bonfire, and he was a mile away.

Yikes! We have a gas line running directly through our back yard (thanks a lot jerks...I can't have a pool or pond). That's scary to think about. Hope no one was injured.

Not bullshit, talked to a buddy that lives in Hanoverton today. He was about a mile away and said it felt like it was 50-60 degrees on his back porch.

The flames were reportedly 2,000 feet in the air for awhile--you could see it from 10-15 miles away, I believe the guy that said the ice was melting off his house.

I was told you could also see this from Sebring. I didn't hear about it until this morning but found it odd that I was able to cook my steak without lighting the stove. ;)

It was a fucking 36" gas line according to the AP article, so there was plenty of fuel for it.

I didn't notice anything here just south of Salem, didn't feel a rumble so I obviously didn't go outside to look for the lit sky.

My uncle lives 3 miles south of Salem, and 8.75 miles from the site of the explosion, as the crow flies (according to Google Earth). He felt a rumble, and said it sounded like someone was dragging one of their metal deck chairs across their concrete front patio. He went outside, and since he sets on top of a hill saw the ball of flames as plain as day. It was large enough that he thought it was much closer than it was (Salem Reservoir, or Guilford Lake). He did drive toward it somewhat, and once he got to Route 30 there was (predictably) too much traffic.

You could at least see the sky lit up (not necessarily flames) from one county away in each direction. The Youngstown news stations mentioned people noticed it in Mahoning County, as well as Lawrence or Beaver County, PA.

Let's just be glad no one was injured. Dungannon is in the middle of fucking nowhere, which definitely helped.
