Definately the best with a hand in his face.....almost unguardable off of many screens....seems to just go along and when Boston needs a big shot.....he drills it.

No. He is good though. 45% Career from the field and 39% from 3's. The record stems from his games played as much as anything. Just my opinion. No need to bash me Mr. Boston Celtic.

For his career Reggie MIller shot 47% from the field. Big difference actually.

So who would you put above him, Reggie?

I would put him and Reggie, 1a and 1b.

But whenever "best" is thrown around it's always an opinion.

I think we had this debate last year...some people think that he isn't "pure" because his shooting motion is a little different. I think he is about as pure as I have ever seen...and a quick release too.

The thing that makes Ray such a great shooter is his footwork to get set for the shot. It doesn't matter where his hands are or where he catches the ball, he is ALWAYS on balance. It doesn't matter what your form looks like if you are on balance.

The coach at my high school had a phenomenal jumper(granted it was about as text book as you can get), but the only thing he taught us was to get your feet square.

Ray is textbook. I'll take Ray over Reggie.

Winning a championship doesn't make him a better shooter. Just means he was on a better team.

Way to take the easy way out though.... lol

Ill take Reggie as a player over Ray any day, but coming from the biggest Pacer fan on the site, I think RayRay is the better "pure" shooter.

Allen won a title, but Reggie led his teams and went on deep playoff runs. Allen hasnt/wasnt able to do so as the guy.

As for shooting currently, I like Steph Curry as the next best to Jesus.

Ray Allen-1073 games played.
Reggie Miller-1389 games played.

OK. I still wanna say the guy hitting 47% from the field is better than the guy hitting 45%. I guess that was my point. All time 3 pt shots made is Ray Allen.

2% is nothing. That's like saying Steve Nash is a better FT shooter than Ray because his career % 90.3 and Ray's is 89.4.

Much props to Ray. I'm not a Celtics fan, but I've always liked him as a player. When he's on, he's incredible to watch.

Same here.

I hate him because he's in Boston, but ONLY because he is in Boston.

Ray is better. He has made more threes. He won a championship (you can say team success all you want, but fact is he was a large part of that team success). Not to mention, I would argue he is a much more clutch shooter than Reggie was. Yea Reggie had the 11 points in however many seconds against the Knicks or whatever, but Ray Allen has made a ton of clutch shots in his day. Also, saying he couldn't do it as the man isn't completely true...He did lead a Bucks team to the 7th game of the conference finals that many say officiating screwed them out of.

Please, the obvious answer here is Glen Rice, his 3 point ability in NBA 97 and NBA 98 were off the charts!!!

Please tell me you dont think Reggie is known as clutch because of 8 points in the final 8 seconds in MSG? Reggie led the Pacers to the conference finals a few times, and got screwed out of the finals when Larry Johnson somehow got an and 1 on a 3 pointer after another 4 dribbles and 2 steps lol. Reggie also took the Lakers and Shaq/Kobe to 6 games. Reggie was a much MUCH more complete player than he is ever given credit for.

I think he is saying your math is off because your comparison is only a .9% difference compared to a 2%.
